Washington County
In the name of God Amen. I William N. Spruill of sound and disposing
mind but of infirm health with the view of disposing of my property of
which I am now possessed do give unto my mother
Nancy SPRUILL my negro boy Joseph & all my farming utensils
& at her death do devise that the said boy Joseph be equally
divided between my sister Mary & my brothers James &
Franklin.
It is also my will that my brother James pay my just debts with
the money he intended paying for the hire of the said boy Joseph
for the year 1848. I also appoint my brother James Executor &
my mother Executrix of this my last will & testament.
