State of North Carolina Tyrrell County the 25th of December 1841 in the name of God amen I SAMUEL SPRUILL of the state and county aforesaid do ordain this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say first I give my should to almighty God who gave it and my body to be decently buried.
Item first. I give to MILEA? SPRUILL fifty one dollars and fifty cents.
Item second. I give to JOHN SPRUILL two hundred and ten dollars.
Item 3. I give ABBY TARKENTON one bed and furniture.
Item 4. I give NANCY CAHOON ten dollars.
Item 5th. I give PERMELIA TWEEDY two hundred and fifty dollars.
Item 6th. I give to JACOB TWEEDY CHILDREN one hundred and seventy three dollars and seventy nine cents to be equally divided between them.
Item 7th. I give to JOSEPH CAHOONS CHILDREN five dollars.
Item 8th., I give Negro girl Chane and her increase to ELIZABETH TWEEDY and MARY TWEEDY.

and I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend JOHN SPRUILL executor of this my last will and testament in witness where of the said SAMUEL SPRUILL have to this my last will and testament
set my hand and seal the day and year above written signed sealed and published and by the said testament to be his last will in the presence of us
