Daughter os Asa and Lurana Sanders

Born 1831 Lincoln Co., TN, dau. of Asa & Lurana "Raney" Brown Luna Sanders, married at the age of 16 to William Hensley, (son of Benjamin Hensley, poss. brother to Lemuel Hensley?) age 17 in either Searcy or Van Buren � Co. � They had 6 children, 5 lived to maturity. Sally Ann Hensley was their second child. The eldest child, �Lurana Elizabeth died about age 12 of osteomyelitis (inflammation of the bone), nowadays a disease that is treatable with antibiotics. Clarissa lost her husband during the Civil War, William had contracted pneumonia, was sent home to recuperate, but did not. � He died only a few days after arriving home. � The family had to wait until the spring thaw to bury him as the ground was frozen hard that year. (abt Jan 1864). William, along with his brother Martin were Confederate Soldiers in the 45th Regiment, Co. G under Capt. W. G. Goodnight 1861 out of Sulphur Springs & Red River, Searcy Co. ARK. This family lived in Hartzuggs Twp., Van Buren Co., ARK in the 1850, & 1860 Fed. Census. � Clarissa married 2nd to Jacob Arnhart, a widower previously married to Jane Hensley, older sister of William Hensley, Clarissa's husband. � Clarissa had the task of raising Jacob's children as well as her own, and they also had several together. Clarissa here is shown as an old woman now, died in 1904 in Ardmore, Carter Co., OK. (I believe this photo was originally from the late Evelyn Duran's collection)
