Phoeba Jane (Roberts) Hampton's Obituary

Cherokee Scout, May 10, 1929

Upper Beaverdam News

Mrs. Jane Hampton,* widow of the late Rev. J. H. Hampton, died May 1st at 1 o'clock P.M. She had passed four score years; her remains were carried to the old Hangingdog cemetery for interment. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. D. Moses. She leaves eight children, five girls and three boys to mourn her loss, but our loss is heaven's gain, as she lived a consistent member of the Baptist church for many years.
