ROLAND L. PIERCE
WYANET - Roland L. Pierce,
70, of Bureau Township, died Wednesday at 11:15 p.m. at the Ryburn Hospital,
Ottawa. He had been a patient there for the past six weeks.
Funeral
services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Sutley-Wilkey Funeral Home
with the Rev. Stanley Innegar officiating. Interment will be in Forest
Hill Cemetery.
Friends
may call at the funeral home Friday 6 to 9 p.m.
Memorials
may be directed to the Bureau Township Community Church.
Mr. Pierce
was the son of Luther and Elizabeth Vaughn Pierce and was born in Bureau
Township, Sept. 7, 1898. He was married to Lovie Mae Thompson at Hennepin
on April 4, 1919.
Surviving
are the wife; a son, Donald of Peoria; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Dorothy)
Braasch of Davis, Il., and Mrs. James (Idella) Lockridge of Seneca; 11
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents and two grandchildren.
He was
a member of teh Bureau Township Community Church and had operated the Pierce
Game Farm north of Wyanet.
