Mrs. Marie Bruner

    Mrs. Marie Barker, 78, Port Byron, died on Sunday at the Fejervary Nursing Home Center, Davenport.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Dailey-Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron at 11 a.m. The Rev. Donald Cassidy, pastor of the Port Byron Congregational Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Cordova Cemetery.
    The former Marie Bruner was born Feb. 20, 1905 in Loretta, Nebr., daughter of Earl and Edith Mace Bruner. On Nov. 12, 1936 she married Arthur Barker in Davenport. He died in 1974.
    She was an accomplished musican having taught for number of years in Cordova area.
    She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Gladys Crimmins of Port Byron; a niece, Beverly Smith of Bettendorf; a nephew, David Mooney of Thomson; also several cousins.
