Patience MORTON
b. 1615 in Leyden, Holland, the daughter of George and Juliana (CARPENTER) MORTON
d. 16 Aug 1691 in Plymouth

John and Patience came to New England aboard the Anne, 1623. They m. in 1633. In addition to being a planter, John was a businessman, designated as one of the Purchasers for the colony. John was not a member of the original Scrooby group, but was a "stranger" recruited by the merchant adverturers who financed the colony.

Patience married second  --?-- WHITNEY.

Children of John and Patience Faunce (b. Plymouth):

1. Priscilla Faunce, b. about 1633; d. 15 May 1707 in Plymouth. She m. Joseph WARREN (son of Richard and Elizabeth WARREN and sister of Mary WARREN) about 1651 in Plymouth.
2. Mary Faunce, b. about 1638; d. 4 Oct 1664 in Plymouth. She m. William HARLOW 15 Jul 1658 in Plymouth. They had children Mary, Repentence, John, and Nathaniel.
3. Patience Faunce, b. about 1641.
4. Sarah Faunce, b. 1645; d. 27 Jun 1695 in Scituate, MA. She m. (1) Edward DOTY 26 Feb 1662/63 in Plymouth. She m. (2) John BUCK 2 Mar 1693 in Plymouth.
5. Thomas Faunce, b. 1647; d. Plymouth 27 Feb 1745/46. He m. Jane NELSON 23 Dec 1672 in Plymouth. They had children Patience, John, Martha, Priscilla, Thomas, Joannah, and Jane.
6. Elizabeth Faunce, b. 23 Mar 1647/48; d. Plymouth 3 Mar 1648/49.
7. Mercy Faunce, b. 10 Apr 1651; d. Plymouth 11 Feb 1731/32. She m. Nathaniel HOLMES (son of John and Sarah HOLMES and brother of John HOLMES) 29 Jul 1667 in Plymouth. They had children Elisha, Mercy, Nathaniel, Sarah, John, Elizabeth, and Eleazer.
8. Joseph Faunce, b. 14 May 1653; d. Plymouth 18 Jan 1728. He m. Judith RICKARD 3 Jan 1677/78 in Plymouth. They had children Hannah, Mary, John, Mercy, Mehitable, Joseph, Eleazer, Thomas, and Benjamin.
9. John Faunce [possible], b. 29 Nov 1654; d. the same day.
