Upon reaching New England, John Hawkes settled in Dorchester. He removed to Windsor in 1635 (a founder of the town); he removed to Hadley in 1650 (a founder of the town).

Elizabeth married second Robert HINSDALE in 1668 in Windsor. She married third Thomas DIBBLE 25 Jun 1683 in Windsor.

1. John Hawkes, b. 13 Aug 1643. He m. (1) Martha BALDWIN 26 Dec 1667. They had children John, John, and Hannah. He m. (2) Alice (--?--) ALLIS (widow of Samuel ALLIS) 20 Nov 1696. They had child Elizabeth.
2. Nathaniel Hawkes, bp. 16 Feb 1644/45; died young.
3. Elizabeth Hawkes, bp. 10 Jan 1646/47. She m. (1) Joseph GILLETT 4 Nov 1663 in Hadley. They had children Joseph, Elizabeth, Mary, Jonathan, John, Nathaniel, and Hannah. She m. (2) Nathaniel DICKENSON in Hatfield.
4. Anna Hawkes, bp. 4 Aug 1649; d. 24 Oct 1705. She m. Dr. Thomas HASTINGS 10 Oct 1672. They had children Margaret, Hannah, Thomas, Hepzibah, Mehitable, John, Silence, Thankful, and Sylvanus.
5. Isaac Hawkes, b. 11 Aug 1650; d. 22 Jun 1659.
6. Mary Hawkes, b. 23 May 1652. She m. (1) Experience HINSDALE 10 Oct 1672. They had child Elizabeth. She m. (2) John EVANS 22 Jul 1677 in Hadley. They had children Elinor, Jonathan, and Randall.
7. Joanna Hawkes, b. 8 Feb 1653/54; d. Deerfield 22 Nov 1729. She m. William ARMS 21 Nov 1677. They had children William, John, Sarah, Margaret, Hannah, Daniel, Ebenezer, William, and Elizabeth.
8. Eliezer Hawkes, b. 20 Dec 1655; d. Deerfield 27 Mar 1727. He m. Judith SMEAD 30 Apr 1689 in Deerfield. They had children Elizabeth, Thankful, Elizaabeth, Eleazer, Mary, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Sarah, and Hannah.
9. Sarah Hawkes, b. 29 Sep 1657.
10. Gershom Hawkes, b. 12 Aug 1659.
