Old Photos from Slovakia
| These photos from Slovakia are from the family
of Anthony Skvarenina, who lived in Kenosha and Chicago. His widow
apparently corresponded with friends and/or relatives as late as the
1980s.
The picture of the little girl, Katka Skvarenova (feminine form of Skvarenina) was undated but appears to be from the 1930s or 1940s. The back of the picture says (in Slovak), "little 8 month old Katka Skvarenova." The back of the picture of the young girl indicates she was born Feb 3, 1935. It also says, "In commemoration of __?__, Jane 1947." So she is apparently 12 years old. The dancing party photos are dated 1970.
