Anthony Skvarenina & Julia Furdek

of Kenosha & Chicago

Anthony arrived at Ellis Island in November, 1926.  Page with links to pictures of his travel documents.  Anthony's father was Steve Skvarenina.  His mother was Catherine Korec from Bosany.  The Catholic Church Cardinal from Slovakia currently is a Jesuit, Jan Korec from Bosany.  Anthony's parents are buried in Bosany with one of his brothers (tombstone photo)

He first lived in Kenosha, WI where he was naturalized in 1932.  Link to citizenship information.  At the time of the 1930 census, Anthony was boarding with his brother, Peter and Peter's in-laws.  Anthony was employed as a machinist at the Nash Motor Company in Kenosha.

He married Julia Furdek in August 1935.  

 

Anthony and Julia moved to Chicago in 1936.  They had a son, John (1936-1993) and a daughter who is still living.  In Chicago, he worked at the Stewart Die Casting Corporaton.

Anthony died June 25, 1955 from a heart attack.  (picture of death certificate)

Julia was born January 8, 1907 and died in February 1986

Their son John was born September 8, 1936 and died December 17, 1993, also from a heart attack.
