John A. "Johnny" Skvarenina

Age 51, of Owosso, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004 as a result of an auto accident.

John worked as a mechanic for 30 years at Firestone and Johnny's Auto, which he owned and operated. He had also worked for Constines and was currently working for Sanches Construction.

Funeral services were held 11 am, Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Nelson-House Funeral Home, with Fr. David Fisher officiating. Burial was at St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home was Sunday from 6-8 pm and Monday from 9 am to 8 pm, with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A rosary was prayed Monday at 7 pm.

John was born April 15, 1953 in Owosso, the son of Josef and Celia (Lauro) Skvarenina.  He was a graduate of Owosso High School.

John had taken classes for master gardening as he enjoyed gardening, yard work, and fishing. He was an avid fan of the University of Michigan, Detroit Lions, and NASCAR.

Survivors include his wife, who he married on July 2, 1991  in Owosso;  a daughter and a son, both of Owosso; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers, of Owosso and Bay City; 3 sisters, all of Owosso; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and grandparents.
