Charles Franke Family

Charlie Franke was born in Leipzig, September 1911.  His parents came from Indiana to live in sod shack.  Jean Leidl, whose dad came from North Dakota and her mother from Russia was also born at Leipzig in 1921.  Jean and Charlie were married at Leipzig, on October 17, 1939 and farmed for a number of years.  In the spring of 1946, they moved to Scott, Charlie farmed from town and started working at the Dominion Expermental Farm, in August of 1946.  The Franke's were blessed with fourteen children:  Eugene, Philip, Ralph, and Kenneth are employed in Saskatoon.  Charlotte and Sandra are in Calgary.  Robert and David attend High School in Wilkie.  Dennis and Michael, Coleen, Lois and Gail at school in Scott and Lynn at home.  Charlie is also Sewage and Water Maintenance man for the town.
