9:07 PM 4/16/99 Wilkie - Harvest of Memories Pages 702-703 LAMBERT AND KATHARINE (FOLK) MILLER Mr. and Mrs. Miller were German immigrants who migrated from Russia to Jamestown, ND. From there they moved to Leader, and then to Wilkie, one mile east and one mile north, with eight of their eleven children. Their oldest child John was "working out". He lives in a home in Vancouver and has been a bachelor all his life. The next oldest is Elizabeth - who married Jacob (Jack) Risling and came to the Narrow Lake district a year after her parents. She now lives in a Senior Citizen High Rise in Medicine Hat. She had ten children - seven boys and three girls. The next in line is Agnes - who married Martin William and came to the Glen Logan district a year before her parents. They live in a Senior Citizens High Rise in Edmonton. She had ten children - seven girls and three boys. Next was Willian (Bill) who married Emma Frey (daughter of Anthony and Theresa Frey of Glen Logan). They lived in Port Alberni, Sproat Lake and Kelowna BC before returning to the Starview district and buying the Sutton place in 1945. Bill died in 1964 and his widow lives in Wilkie. Bill had eight children - five sons and three daughters. Edward married Mary Weber (daughter of Ludwig Weber of Revenue). They live in Surrey BC and had no family. Rose marrie August Welk of the Coldspriing district. They are retired in Spokane, Washington. She had three children, two daughters and a son. Mary married Emile Frey (son of Anthony and Theresa). They live in Kerrobert. She had ten children - seven daughters and three sons. Bert married Margaret Reis (daughter of Anthony Reis of the Scott district). They lived in Port Alberni for many years. They retired to Surrey BC. He had one son and one daughter. Lloyd married June Gerow. He is retired in Surrey BC. He had three children - one son and two daughters. Lenora married James Smith (son of Alfred Smith). They live in Wilkie. They had three sons. Roy married Mabel and lived in New Westminster, BC. He died in 1982. They had no family. Lambert and Katharine Miller farmed east of Wilkie for many years. In 1943, they moved to BC. returning to Wilkie in 1945. Katharine passed away in Wilkie in 1960. Lambert then moved to Medicine Hat to live with his daughter, Elizabeth Risling, who was a widow by then. He died in Medicine Hat in 1969.
