KAUFMAN, JACOB & FAMILY

Jacob Kaufmann came by ship from Germany to the United States.  They
settled in Sidney, Nebraska and later moved to Arkansas.  His ancestors
lived in a community of Gladt near Junkerath just outside of Cologne.
They were farmers.  He married Susan Meyer.  They had seven children:
Mary (Mrs. Joseph Rohs), John (Lizzie), Anthony (Rosa), Joseph, Leo
(Katie), Jacob (Helen), and Susan (Mrs. Bruno Cey).  They pioneered to
Canada.

Susan Kaufmann died April 28, 1925 suddenly at home of hemorrhage of the
brain.  This occurred shortly after they had built a home in Leipzig.
Jacob Kaufmann died in June of 1930 at Wilkie Hospital.  He had
undergone a serious operation.
