Heritage of Hope 1905-1983 1/16/2001 CARL BARTSCH I was born in Bowdle, South Dakota in 1901. In 1903, we moved to Watson, Saskatchewan. Then we moved to Salvador and farmed there until 1975. We retired in Unity where I'm still living. I married Brigetta Herback on June 16, 1931. We had a nice surprise when arrivng home. There was a three man orchestra waiting for us. They were Frank Flahr, Wendel Young and Bill Spring. Frank still enjoys playing his instrument. Frank Leier, Brigetta's uncle, was the floor manager and a great entertainer. I bought a Chevy car in 1928 and it cost me a little less than $1000. I drove the car to church on our wedding day. This picture of my car was taken last year and it is still in good running condition. My wife passed away March 17, 1981.
