Page 268Information from the provincial archives informs us that William Alder homesteaded the NW 10-42-19 in 1906. He was a stockman working for the Yale Ranch near Calgary and he returned there during the winter months for a few years. When he returned in the spring of 1908, he found that of the two horses he had left with a neighbour , one had died and the other was crippled.
He, his wife and two daughters resided in Victoria in 1955.
