St. Peter's was organized in 1911 when the original United Norwegian Synod
split into two groups. One group, composed of mostly Swedes, formed St. Pietre's
(original name), with the remaining group staying as St. John's Lutheran. Land
for St. Peter's Cemetery was donated by John Nord in 1911.
