Music from Kentucky 1800s

Kentucky cousins were gifted musicians it’s said

Gatherings with strings and organs in fine stead

It was heart-to-heart music, love filled the air

Our Dollie Thompson shone with her special flair.

Virgil and Lonnie added both banjo and song,

Sam’s banjo and guitar, a must to bring along

Cousin Charles excelled with strings and voice

S.E. Thompson played and sang with rejoice.

Dollie Thompson was our Howard extraordinaire

She savored everything; it gave her joy to share

Talent and love of music laid the foundation

Insured passionate talent for future generations

With wonderful memories of Kentucky times

Dollie brought joy and laughter in tough times

Her music was emotional survival for dozens

Her gift of healing learned from Kentucky cousins-
