pioneer life agrees,
Stressful times are generating with
increased fur trade creed.
Conflict is here with valuable furs
in European demand.
The Hudson�s Bay Company and Nor�Westers want command.
Pemmican is valued as Buffalo meat disappears-
Herds of buffalo ran over cliffs
leaving the Metis in arrears.
Competition for food, furs and land-
tension all around,
Companies and Crown make us feel
politically unsound.
Life has joy, hope and faith as a
grandson arrives
Angele gave birth to Joseph Dumont; we feel
so alive.
He is so cute and clever, perfect in
every way.
Who knows, he may lead the Metis Nation one fine day.
