John Louis Kiemele

John Louis Kiemele (September 16, 1911 - December 28, 2008) was born in Alberta, Canada and spent his first ten years living in Canada. His father, George Kiemele married Verna (nee Hall) in 1905 (Age 19) and in 1907 moved to the Majorville district. Kiemele and his sister Verna Kiemele were the first family of George Jacob Kiemele, his wife was Verna Hall who died when these children were about five or six. John Louis Kiemele was taken as a young child to the USA after living with his family in Canada until the age of ten. Our Canadian Kiemele family always felt an ache in our hearts for this brother and his sister Verna Kiemele.

Later, George Jacob Kiemele and his third wife Florence nee Vair had nine children named Harry, Fred, Anne, David, Ted, Ernest, George jr, Raymond and Florence Kiemele.

John Louis Kiemele later completed his seconday schooling in California, and Barber College in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the second world war (September 1, 1939 September 2, 1945) at about the same time as he married Ella, April 15, 1941. He settled with his wife Ella Mildred Jones in Selma, Alabama where he became active in the Baptist church and Masonic Lodge while pursuing his profession as a barber.

He passed away at the age of 97 in Troy, Texas where they had relocated to in 1993 where he had lived about 15 years. Fortunately one of the Canadian Kiemele family was able to reconnect with John Lewis Kiemele before his death. It was a happy ending to a sad separation.

His family have given their approval for this posting. His sister, Verna Kiemele, died several years ago.
