Bertha Landry- 1898

 

Bertha and Joseph Landry received Scrip

Poverty forced them to sell land and slip.

Whatever those with money paid, they took.

-Living on road allowance; in history books.

 

Seventeen children born to loving parents

Natural remedies heal, it became apparent.

Bertha kept her children healthy and more-

Also midwifery; deliveries never ignored.

 

The Catholic Church contributed to their life

Daughters became wives; morals were rife.

Sons worked- parental care without despair

-Provision for all; no one ever without care.

 

Bertha’s children still wish for her knowledge

Herbal cures over the pharmaceutical college!

Her claim that Metis people are all related-

We’re now proving the truth in what she stated.
