The Metis were outnumbered;
they had no voice!
In the �85 Rebellion, Metis
now defeated; they must flee-
Riel to the US and Gabriel Dumont remained free.
All of the Metis faced
poverty with no home or job
The buffalo were gone; starvation here; some felt
robbed.
The Metis ran in all
directions except East
Some squatted on the road allowance- life was deplete-
Voyageurs and guides, the Metis
were without income.
Many felt broken with dark despair; life was now glum.
Even in adversity, the beauty of life prevails
Marriages and births provide new hope; love upscale.
The Parenteau family added
grace and strong ties,
Cayenne included, then Howard�s Royal surprise.
