Poem for
Myrtle Fester nee Howard

Myrtle Fester nee Howard

Myrtle was so strong and durable; a blessing to behold

She had natural class and charm as her beauty did unfold

When others play or work they look exactly like the part

Myrtle always looked pert and fashionable from the start.

She looked pensive and wise as she glanced all around

Quality and good value she searched for until she found

Myrtle knew that charm and beauty the race would not win

She was unhesitant to work hard always wearing a grin.

Myrtle challenged her life with strength courage and thought

She knew that life could not be won without a battle fought

A wealthy farmer she became, no demand was too great-

Happiness is hers as success is now here- maybe it was fate.

I am always thankful that in the homeland Myrtle stayed

Her life helps anchor the roots of those who moved away

The Howard’s threw their torch to those who remained

The fine legacy of loving camaraderie you will maintain.
