Poem for
Lavina Rose nee Howard

Lavina Rose (nee Howard) – 1929

Written By Carol Vulliamy- Métis Elder

Lavina, a pioneer child is destined for her radiance to unfold

Those around say her beauty is really something to behold.

Her attraction and charm abounds in body, mind and grace

People draw nigh to enjoy the lovely contours of her face.

Lavina maintains the Howard’s non-judgmental loving soul

Christian values, pure thoughts, people skills- forever her role.

Her kindness based on loving thoughts still remains they say.

Her grandchildren sigh, “we will love her forever and a day.”

Her gentle ways have kept Lavina young in spirit and mind,

All ages gather ‘round her- as their cares and worries unwind.

Lavina calms the pain and soothes the soul- troubles disappear

With a lifetime of experience she knows how to conquer all fear.

Her golden years now reflect the camaraderie of the generations

Great grandparents and great grandchildren- her inspirations.

Wisdom, tolerance and patience without boundary are her gifts

Lavina will always be remembered as one who gave others a lift.
