Poem for
Jackie Bouchard

Jackie Bouchard

Written By Carol Vulliamy- Métis Elder

Thelma and Hank were blessed with Jackie’s birth.

Her character and values the ultimate in human worth.

As she matured she became courageous and brave

Saving a near drowning of sis’ Carol, they now rave.

Happy times, jokes and folklore Jackie often recalls

As she cooks and cleans her home mindful of all

Creative skill her beads and tiles demand of her

Everyone admires her attention to detail for sure.

Like the generations of Howard’s before her time

Jackie loves the great outdoors- it helps her unwind

Animals of all kinds she values and cares for

They are warm and loving; “I can’t ask for more…”

As the years pass, Jackie continues her unique venue

The courage to live in her own skin is in her menu.

Self determination is important to all she claims

As she nurtures and guides her children by name.
