Frank Howard-
Like
other settlers of his day Frank always made time to pray
He
lived a clean moral life with many challenges they say.
Everyday
was focused on needs and problem-solving skills
-Divergent
thinking, determination and hard work- no frills.
Women
were the treasured few so alone Frank chose to stay
He
was never lonely and enjoyed the open spaces come what may
He
was an uncle to several families of children- he felt so free
“Do
you think those little buggers would enjoy an apple?” said he.
His
nieces and nephews remember to this day his offer of an apple
Many
times they laugh at the crude manners Frank seemed to grapple
Later
Frank chose to live close-by in the original Howard home.
Of
his unpolished fashion others smiled, “let’s give him a comb?”
We
are truly thankful for men such as Frank who braved the raw
They
were the trail blazers and forefathers who came, who saw-
This
untamed frontier of North Bend
only for the strong of heart
They
gallantly committed their brawn and brain right from the start.
