Floyd Howard
Floyd was
blessed with a gentle loving soul- true to his family trait-
He was a
good-hearted pioneer with strength and courage- it’s fate
Two sons he
enjoyed briefly; good friends and neighbors close by
A larger family
of North Bend settlers he would enjoy he sighed.
Floyd enjoyed
the horses, his Jeep and his productive farm of grain.
Local culture
Floyd enjoyed- the banjos, spoons and violins engrained
The life of a
pioneer such as Floyd was never simple or easy we hear
There was no
room for fools or folly- half-hearted would bring tears
His heart was
always open- loving all who came regardless of name
A quick
bachelor’s menu he would prepare for his guests who came
The children who
passed by still remember riding his big draft horse
Their little
legs nimbly split riding the draft horse bareback of course.
Other nieces and
nephews remember the pennies for their banks
As well as the
lessons on driving a tractor- oops watch out Floyd!
The clutch is so
sensitive- the tractor lunges when we let it out quick!
Our memories we
cherish as we hash and rehash childhood kicks.
The courage and
thrill of adventure our early forefathers must possess
Floyd was no
exception as survival he clearly waged with the rest
We are thankful
for the roots these brave hearts and gentle souls gave
They tamed the
wilderness and created the beauty of which we rave.
Thanks For Our
Heritage!
