Poem for
Henry Adelbert (Bert) Howard

Henry Adelbert Howard

He was a quiet gentle pioneer who knew nothing of acts unkind

A greater husband, father, son and neighbor you would not find.

New settlers knew a hot meal and support Bert would share

For miles people knew that Bert Howard would be sure to care.

He was often seen helping his neighbors homestead near by

His strong character; a valuable asset his neighbors would sigh.

Strong relationships and a love of family and friends he had

With his Christian soul he lived life without feelings of mad.

He was a beautiful person with a scientific mind not left unused

His skill was government sought to repair machinery refused

Several inventions he created, new machine parts he devised

His ability saved disaster when machinery problems would arise.

His cherished memories still impact the Howard family of today

He was truly an outstanding man- so perfect in everyway

A good man is powerful to behold; his lessons are priceless

Bert’s loving example still caresses our hearts in times of duress.

Thank You For The Memories- Carol Vulliamy (Howard)
