Henry Howse who was the grandfather to Olive Howse-Howard and Mary Howse-Howard.
Henry Howse II born on 13 May 1833 at St. John's Red River Settlement, Manitoba, Canada.
Died on 12 February 1907 at Benchonzie, Saskatchewan, Canada and is buried there. He
married Elizabeth Nellie Inkster on 21 November 1853 at St. John's, Red River Settlment,
Manitoba, Canada. Their one son was Robert Alexander Howse, who was the father of Olive
Howse-Howard and Mary Howse-Howard. These two ladies were sisters and they married two men
that were first cousin from the Howard Clan. Henry Howse signed his scrip on July 15, 1870
at High Bluff, Manitoba. He did this to register himself, his wife and family as Metis with
the Government of Canada. This entitled them to the benifits that the Government was
bestowing upon the half-breeds of yesterday and the Metis people of today. |
