Died April 3, 1838 in Union County, town of Kelly. Father is listed as Christopher Schuhmann in the Goshenhoppen baptism registers, where there is an indication Christopher's wife was named Maria Elisabetha. Christopher may very well be the Stofel Schuman who arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Edinburgh on 15 Sept 1749.

Wendelin was found in the Chicago, IL City Directory as "Wenderlin Schumann" in 1862. Moved to Scott Co. MN bet. 1862 and 1870. They appear on the census in Helena Twp., Scott Co. MN in 1870. Place of birth for the first 5 children given as Illinois.
