Harvey H. Klabechek, 71, formerly of 134 Caroline St., Plymouth, died early today at St. Nicholas Hospital. He had lived with his son, Gary, at 2329 E. Mark Drive, for the past three months.

He was born May 29, 1912 in Eau Plaine, Wis., a son of the late John and Elizabeth Kautzer Klabacheck. He attended Eau Plaine schools.

On July 1, 1933, he married Lillian Methfessel in Sheboygan.

He was employed at Kohler Co. until 1953, when he moved to Milwaukee. He moved to Plymouth in 1982.

Survivors include a son, Gary, of Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne {Donna} Call of Port Washington; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four brothers, Ernie, Clarence, John and Raymond, all of Sheboygan; and four sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Hetz of Cedarburg, Mrs. Marion Stoelb, Mrs. Mildred Kaboord and Mrs. Karl Reineking, all of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

There will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Name Catholic Church. The Rev, William J. Effinger, pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass, which will be preceded by family rites at 10:30 a.m. at the Kroos-Mason Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Calvary Cememtery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday. A Bible vigil will be held there at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Klabechek's name.

Mrs. Lizette C. Krams, 93, of 915 Huron Ave., died early Sunday at her home following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Krams was born Nov. 8, 1879, at Brusk, Latvia. Her husband, George Krams preceded her in death while the couple was living in Russia.

In 1950 Mrs. Krams and her daughter, Mrs. Elfriede Schurman, came to the United States from West Germany. They lived in Virginia for 15 months prior to coming to Sheboygan.

Mrs. Krams was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors are four daughters, Irma and Louise in Eastern Europe; Mrs. Erich {Wanda} Hoffman of Bad Homburg, West Germany, and Mrs. Schurman, with whom she made her here.

A sister and infant son preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, the Rev. Herbert A Cross, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral chapels after 5 p. m. today.

Funeral services for Fred Krepsky, 76, of 1724 Niagra Ave., who died at his home Saturday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.

The Rev. Edwin R. Homer, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 19, 1906, in Sheboygan, a son of the late William and Emma Thiel Krepsky.

On Oct. 3, 1931, he married Alice Rickmeier of the Town of Sheboygan Falls. She died Jan. 21, 1967.

He was employed at Sheboygan Brick Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1968.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nicholas {Ann} Beckertgis and Mrs. Allen {Mary} Barts, both of Sheboygan; four granddhildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Adam Kleist, 73 years of age, passed away at his home, 1235 Pennsylvania avenue, Saturday evening, following an attack of pneumonia. The deceased had been failing for some time when taken with the severe attack that caused his death. He was born in Germany and came to this city when a young man, living here the remainder of his life.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Robert Grandey {sic}, Mrs. Ernst Kupel {sic}, Mrs. Harry Hermann and Mrs. Herman Eisold and four sons, Herman, William, Jacob and Adam Jr., all of this city. The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the St. Peter Claver church, Rev. J. P. Van Treeck officiating. Burial will take place in Wildwood cemetery.

The deceased came to this country in 1871 and immediately settled in Sheboygan where he worked in the tannery here for 34 years. For the past five years he has been living a retired life. He was married in this city, Sept. 21,1874 {sic: should be 1875}, to Barbara Urban. He was a member of the Arbeiter Verein, six members of which will act as the pall bearers at the funeral.

Edward A. Kleist, 80, formerly of 1620 S. 17th St., a resident of Heritage Nursing Center the past four months, died early this morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Sheboygan, Aug. 9, 1890, a son of the late Adam and Barbara Kleist.

He attended school here and during World War I worked in the Manitowoc Shipyards and later was employed 10 years by Kohler Co. and 25 years by Hayssen Manufacturing Co. He retired in 1955.

He married Miss Minnie Baalke on Aug. 13, 1912 in Sheboygan. She died in 1966.

Survivors include a son, Harvey; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Schmidt; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Eisold and Mrs. Anna Kubel, all of Sheboygan, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John I. Hagen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Albert H. Kaestner, 76, a Town of Sheboygan Falls farmer, died at the Rocky Knoll Sanatorium and Hospital at 9 p.m. Tuesday after a three month illness.

He was born Jan. 28, 1887, in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, a son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Sylvester Kaestner. He attended the district school and was married Nov. 25, 1911, to Erna Wedepohl.

The couple farmed in the Town of Sheboygan Falls following their marriage. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 18, 1959.

Mr. Kaestner was a member of Saron United Church of Christ, Town of Sheboygan Falls, and of the Men's Brotherhood of the church.

Surviving are a son, Harvey, on the homestead farm; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, William, of Sheboygan, and a sister, Mrs. Walter Karstedt, of Howards Grove.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Saron Church in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. A. A. Graf, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Laura Kaestner passed on at 8:10 Tuesday evening, after a lingering illness of seven months' duration, part of which time was spent in a Milwaukee hospital, from which, at her earnest solicitation she was brought home.

Mrs. Kaestner was the daughter of Valentine and Gustine Pfeil. She was born in Rhine March 11, 1862. She was married to Albert H. Kaestner March 21, 1886. They settled on the farm four miles southeast of Plymouth, where they remained until 1914, when they moved to Plymouth and resided at 1024 Kensington avenue. On December 2, 1919, Mr. Kaestner died.

The survivors are three daughters and one son; Norma, Mrs. Carl Jurss north of the city; Claudia, Mrs. A. De Munck, Thiensville and Miss Mae at home. The son is Elmer J. on the homestead. There are eight grandchildren, one sister and three brothers.

The funeral will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon at the Wittkopp funeral home, with Rev. H. G. Schmid officiating and interment will be in the Union cemetery.

Mrs. Laura M. Kaestner who died Tuesday evening at her home was buried at two o'clock Friday afternoon from the Wittkopp Funeral Home. The Rev. H. Schmid officiating and interment was in the Union cemetery at Plymouth.

Mrs. Kaestner was the daughter of the late Valentine and Gustine Pfeil and was born on March 11, 1862, in the Town of Rhine. Her marriage with Albert H. Kaestner was solemnized on March 1, 1886. The couple settled four miles southeast of Plymouth, where they remained until 1914, when they moved to Plymouth in a residence at 1024 Kensington avenue. Mr. Kaestner died on December 2, 1919.

Those who survive Mrs. Kaestner are three daughters, Mrs. Carl Juers, formerly Miss Norma Kaestner, who lives north of Plymouth; Mrs. A. De Munck, who was formerly Miss Claudia Kaestner and who lives in Thiensville; and Miss Mae Kaestner, who is the proprietor of a ladies ready-to-wear shop in Plymouth. One son, Elmer J., lives on the homestead. Mrs. Kaestner also leaves to mourn her death eight grandchildren, one sister and three brothers.

Mrs. Kaestner was a kind and loving mother and greatly devoted to her family. She has a large circle of acquaintances and friends who are mourning her death.

The songs at the Funeral Home consisted of "Abide With Me" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" by Dr. Luecker and Miss Hildegarde Wilson, accompanist.

The pallbearers were Winn Eldridge, Fred Miller, Charles Nehrling, Emil Hoffmann, Otto Kalk and William Luedke.

Elmer J. Kaestner, 92, formerly of the Town of Plymouth, died this morning at Plymouth Extended Care Facility, where he had been a resident for the past 10 years.

He was born April 28, 1889, in the Town of Plymouth, son of Albert and Laura Pfeil Kaestner.

He attended district school, Plymouth High School and, in 1912, took a mechanic ande auto mechanics course at Highland Park College, Des Moines, Iowa.

On March 3, 1914, he married Amy Gardner in Plymouth. The couple farmed the family homestead. Since 1940, Mr. Kaestner had been a carpenter contractor, retiring in 1970.

The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1964. Mrs. Kaestner died March 14, 1968.

On June 28, 1969, he married Mrs. Hilda Laack Hueppchen in Sheboygan.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Earl {Verna} Gerber of Plymouth; a son, Earl of the Town of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Merlin Hueppchen of Illinois and Carl Hueppchen of Plymouth; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Arvan {Lorraine} Doebert of the Town of Plymouth, Mrs. Verona Konop of Milwaukee and Mrs. Victor {Mildred} Klug of Batavia; 14 stepgrandchildren and two great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, three sisters and two stepsons.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev. Robert Klepper, pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

At four o'clock, Saturday afternoon, Louis A. Kaestner succumbed to an attack of pneumonia at his home on Forest avenue. He had been ill nine or ten days, but it was only a few days that his sickness was considered at all serious, and his death was, therefore, a great surprise to most people.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at half-past one at the house and at two o'clock at the Reformed church. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Rev. Beissner will conduct the services and H. J. Ebenreiter & Sons will be the undertakers in charge.

Mr. Kaestner was born October 30, 1854 in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. One June 26, 1880, he was married in the town of Sheboygan Falls to Miss Louisa Thomas, who survives him as do the following children; Mrs. Alice Peters, of the town of Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Edna Klepstein of Milwaukee; Mrs. Hilda Brinkman and Miss Clara Kaestner of this city and Erwin Kaestner of Niagara, Wis. One brother, Albert Kaestner, Kensington avenue, one sister, Mrs. Leonard Dennerlein, Pleasant street and seven grandchildren are also left to mourn his loss.

Mr. Kaestner was for a number of years engaged in farming, but several years ago moved into the city. For a time he was a member of the firm of J. H. Timm Co., but lately had retired from all active business, owing to failing health.

Mr. Kaestner was one of the long time residents of Plymouth and vicinity. He had been a successful farmer, and proved himself a careful and conservative business man. He had always been trusted by his neighbors, and was strictly honorable in his dealings with others. In his death Plymouth has lost one of its substantial citizens.

Suffering from heart troble which has kept him confined to his home for some time past, Louis J. Kaestner died at his home in this city shortly after seven o'clock yesterday morning. Deceased was a life-long resident of the city having been born here April 29, 1853. On October 29, 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Agnes D. Rosenthal, who with one son Walter survives him. He is also survived by one brother, Gus and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Kegler of this city and Mrs. Mary Kirkland of Kansas City, Mo. The funeral services will be held from the home Monday at one o'clock, members of the M. W. A. being in charge. In-{Th rest of the obit is missing.}

Kellner: - Frank Kellner, who resided on Saemann avenue, died Monday night, Dec. 24, at St. Nicholas hospital, of brain fever, aged 44 years. A widow and three children survive.

Katte: - Wilhelmina, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Katte, of 1815 N. Eighth street, died Monday night, Mch. 30, of convulsions, aged 10 months.

Mrs. Reinhold Kammerzelt, 60, of 547 S. 27th St., died unexpectedly Sunday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, following a two-year illness.

The former Everdene Pierce was born in Sheboygan on March 7, 1923, daughter of Mrs. Harvey {Harriet} Pierce Schuchardt and L.A. Pierce.

She was employed for five years as secretary to the president of Wisconsin Oil Refining Co., Inc. until 1946.

On Jan. 12, 1946, she married Reinhold Kammerzelt in the parsonage of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

For many years, Mrs. Kammerzelt served as a volunteer at the voting polls at Lyman School.

Mrs. Kammerzelt was a member of Lutheran Church of our Redeemer.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Daniel {Kathy} Hutchinson of Sarasota, Fla.; one son, Thomas of Sheboygan; four grandchildren; her mother and stepfather of Sheboygan; and her father of Sheboygan.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home. The Rev. H. William Jordan, pastor of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer will officiate. Entombment will be in Garden Terrace Mausoleum.

He was born in Sheboygan, Aug. 12, 1898, son of the late Gustave and Marie Kroening.

He married Fern Mueller, who preceded him in death in 1946.

On Dec. 9, 1961, he married Louise Mayer in Sheboygan.

Mr. Kroening was employed at the H.C. Prange co. for 63 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Quarter Century Club of H.C. Prange Co.

Survivors include his wife; three step-sons, Ronald, Kenneth and Richard Greger, all of Sheboygan; two step-daughters, Mrs. Robert {Mary} Bergemann and Mrs. Gerald {Helen} Ruppel, both of Sheboygan; 17 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren and one brother, Gustave, Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by two half-brothers.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Mrs. Anna Kubel, 95, widow of Ernst E., a resident of Sunny Ridge, died there early Sunday evening.

The former Anna Kleist, she was born here, Oct. 10, 1879, a daughter of the late Adam and Barbara Kleist.

Her marriage to Mr. Kubel of Sheboygan Falls took place May 15, 1897. The couple lived in Falls until moving to Sheboygan in 1901.

Her husband, a cabinet maker by trade, died in June, 1965.

Mrs. Kubel was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church here.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward {Louise} Stegner; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Hilda Eisold, all of Sheboygan.

A son, two daughters, a grandson and several sisters and brothers preceded her in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Donald J. Knecht, St. Peter pastor, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapels after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Ernst E. Kubel, 88, of 1548 N. 21st St., died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Hospital following a brief illness.

A native of Germany, he was born April 19, 1877, a son of the late Ernst and Louis Kubel, and came to Sheboygan Falls as a boy with his family. He attended St. Paul's School in Sheboygan Falls and was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church there.

On May 15, 1897, he married Miss Anna Kleist of Sheboygan. The couple lived in Sheboygan Falls for four years before moving to Sheboygan.

Mr. Kubel was a cabinetmaker, and was employed at the former Crocker Chair Co. and Northern Furniture Co. for several years prior to 1942 when illness forced him to retire.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Edward {Louise} Stegner, Mrs. Max {Hilda} Kuether, both of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. One son, a daughter and one grandson preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels.

Mathias Kalchthaler, aged 67 years, 5 months and 14 days, passed away Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the family residence, 1238 Lincoln avenue.

Mr. Mathias was born in Germany, September 12, 1853 and came to Sheboygan in 1875, having resided here since.

The survivors are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Clara Ploetz, this city; two sons, Joseph Kalchthaler, this city and Rudolph Kalchthaler, Chicago, and seven grandchilren. A daughter preceded him in death at the age of five months.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from Holy Name church, the Rev. D. F. Thill officiaing. Interment will be made in the North Side Catholic cemetery and R. H. Kroos will direct the funeral.

Mrs. Margaret Kalchthaler, 87, widow of the late William Kalchthaler, died early this morning at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kalchthaler, 2024 N. Twelfth street.

A life-long resident of Sheboygan County, the deceased was born July 19, 1860, in the town of Rhine, the daughter of John and Barbara Urban. She came to Sheboygan to make her home in 1876.

On Nov. 9, 1882, she was married to William Kalchthaler by the late Rev. Michael Haider of Holy Name church. For the past 19 years she had resided in Elkhart Lake.

Survivors are two sons, Joseph, Sheboygan, and Rudolph, Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Clara Ploetz; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Reichert, Plymouth.

Her husband did Feb. 26, 1921, and a daughter, Lily, eight sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p. m. Monday at Gerend's Funeral home and at 2 p. m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church. The Rev. Victor Mennicke, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be made on the family lot in Calvary cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 7 p. m. SAturday until the time of the services.

Atty. Virgil W. Kalchthaler, 80, formerly of 1832 N. Sixth St., Sheboygan, and presently residing at 1231 Eisner Ave., died on Saturday morning, Dec. 7, 1996, at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Mr. Kalchthaler was born in Sheboygan on Dec. 25, 1915, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth {Trimberger} Kalchthaler. He attended Holy Name grade school and graduated from Sheboygan High School and Marqueete University. He received his law degree in 1939 and was named to "Who's Who in American Colleges."

On Aug. 3, 1940, he married the former Helen T. Pekool. Helen preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1980.

Virgil was owner of Morningside Health Center, Morningside Terrace and Heritage Nursing Center in Sheboygan and Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington. He was administrator of Heritage Nursing Center from 1969 to 1992.

He served his country during World War II in the Army. He was a member of Am Vets and the Sheboygan and Wisconsin Bar Associations. Virgil was a life-long member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Catholic Male Chorus and the Holy Name Men's Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Rosary Council 722.

Mrs. Emelia Kleist, wife of Herman F. Kleist, passed away on Monday afternoon at her home, Route 2, Sheboygan, after a lingering illness. She was born in Brandenburg, Germany, the daughter of Frank and Matilda Bark, on July 10, 1872.

At the age of nine she came to this country with her parents. The family settled in Chicago and after eight years there came to Town Sheboygan. Mrs. Kleist has lived here ever since. On July 26, 1900, she married Herman F. Kleist.

The deceased was a faithful member of the Zion Reformed church.

Among the survivors are her husband, and two children, Mrs. Albert Haack of Sheboygan and Carl Kleist of Milwaukee, and one sister, Miss Mary Bark of Route 1, Sheboygan. Four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels and at 2 o'clock at the Zion Reformed church. The Rev. E. H. Wessler will officiate and burial will be made in the Wildwood cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from Wednesday afternoon until the time of services.

Meta E. Krueger, 91, formerly of 1628 N. 12th St., died Monday, March 18, 1996 at Sheboygan County Comprehensive Health Center.

Born Aug. 22, 1904 in Sheboygan, Meta was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Kleist Grande.

On April 12, 1924, she was united in marriage to Herman "Dunbar" Krueger in Sheboygan. Herman preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1977.

Meta was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Carl Jetzer, Sheboygan; two grandsons, Dr. Thomas {Carol} Jetzer, Independence, Minn.; Lawrence {Kristie} Jetzer, Shorewood, Minn.; one great-grandson, Kristian Jetzer, other relatives and friends. Meta was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 23, at Lippert Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. The Rev. Steve Perry, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home, on Saturday, from 9 a.m., until the time of services.

Herman Krueger, 77, of 1628 N. 12th St., died at his home Sunday afternoon, apparently of a heart attack.

He was born in Sheboygan on Dec. 8, 1899, a son of William and Wilhelmina Krueger.

On April 12, 1924, he married Meta Grande.

Mr. Krueger worked for the Leverenz Shoe Co. for 45 years, retiring in 1965.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Carl {Gloria} Jetzer of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, and one brother, William Krueger of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home, the Rev. Ben Hulsing, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Frederick Kruschke, 72, of 1504 Illinois avenue, died at Sheboygan Memorial hospital at 12:45 o'clock Wednesday afternoon after a lingering illness.

He was born in Pommern, Germany, Dec. 3, 1867. In 1890 he came to Sheboygan with his sister. On Jan. 23, 1892, he married Johanna Baalke and their union was blessed with six children.

Survivors are his widow, three children, Mrs. Esther Ness, St. Paul, Minn.; Gordon, of Milwaukee, and Melvin of Chicago; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. William Henning and Mrs. Augusta Menz, of this city. Three children died in infancy.

Mr. Kruschke was employed at the Art Furniture shop for 25 years, retiring 12 years ago. Funeral services will be held at the Steffen funeral chapel Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. George B. McCreary officiating with burial in Lutheran cemetery. The body can be viewed at the funeral chapel from tonight at 7 o'clock on.

Mrs. Johanna Kruschke, 73, of 1504 Illinois avenue, passed away this morning at the Memorial hospital.

Born Oct. 16, 1872, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Baalke of this city, she attended the public schools here and was married to Fred Kruschke of this city 56 years ago. Her husband passed away six years ago.

Mrs. Kruschke was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church and of the Ladies' Aid society of the church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Esther Ness, of Lynwood, Cal.; two sons, Gordon E. of Milwaukee and Melvin of Chicago; two brothers, Richard of California and Oscar of this city; five sisters, Mrs. Frank {Elizabeth} Conners of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Charles {Emma} Weiner, Mrs. Herman {Lulu} Miller and Mrs. Michael {Hulda} Biwerse of Milwaukee, and Mrs. William {Anna} Kleist of this city; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

John A. Kolb, 68 of 726 Chaplin Court, Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly, of an apparent heart attack, late Tuesday evening, Dec. 31, 1996, in Appleton.

He was born April 6, 1928, in the Town of Meeme, a son of the late John H. and Hilda Wiegand Kolb. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1946.

In 1950, he was married to Jola Anhalt in Kiel. The couple farmed in the Town of Meeme. He began working for Lakeland Mutual Insurance Company in Cleveland and in 1962; became secretary-treasurer of the company and later became president of the company.

On Aug. 12, 1979, he was married to Marilyn Schouten Breuser. They have lived in Plymouth since their marriage. He retired in December of 1994. John then worked for the USDA, as a statistical data surveyor.

He had been a member of St. James United Church of Christ in Spring Valley and is currently a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.

John was named Outstanding Young Farmer in 1956. He served on the board of directors of Cleveland Co-op, and on the Sire Committee for Badger Breeders. He also was chairman of Farm Progress days in Manitowoc County, a member of Manitowoc Farm Bearau and for 12 years, served as a member of te Kiel School Board. He was a member of the Elkhart Lake Men's Service Club and a member of the Plymouth Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two sons, steven {Alice}, De Pere; and Michael {Marcia} the Town of Meeme; one daughter, lori {James} Isom, Spartaburg, S.C.; three step-sons, Brad Brueser, Plymouth; Ross {Ann} Brueser, and Mitch {Chris} Brueser, both of Appleton; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles {Ruth Ann}, Newton. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vicki Lynn and one step-daughter, Leslyn Matheys.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, at the Wittkopp Funeral Home in Plymouth, the Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of Saelm United Church of Christ in Plymouth, officiating. Two Sheboygan High school students, a boy and a girl, were fatally injured when an automobile struck a caravan of four bicycles as seven young people were returning from a moonlight ride following a wiener roast. The accident happened north on Highway 141 past Pigeon river on the plateau before the long dip shortly after 11 p. m. Wednesday.

The dead, next-door neighbors, are Miss Ruth DeBack, 15, 1213 Trimberger court, and Joseph Kalchthaler, 15, 2016 N. Twelfth street. Joseph was peddling the bicycle that was leading the caravan south toward the city. Ruth was riding the frame.

William Beringer, 17, 1214 Michigan avenue, second in line, is in St. Nicholas Hospital today suffering from a possible fractured pelvis. Riding with him was Miss Wilma Kuitert, 16, 2128 N. Thirteenth street.

Merton Olson, 16, 1230 Trimberger court, riding solo, was next in line, and he was followed by his sister, Lucille, 14, riding the frame of a bicycle peddled by Robert Marsho, 16, who lives downstairs at 1230 Trimberger court. The last three were uninjured.

Roger Yehle, 926 1/2 Indiana avenue, the driver of the coupe that crashed into the file of bicycles, was uninjured. He was also traveling south. The auto missed the bicycle last in line; tore a wheel from the next one; sideswiped the third, and in a head-on crash demolished the third.

The light coupe continued down the road for a hundred years, swerved from the right hand side of the road to the left, crashed through a fence, skidded clear around, and stopped in a farmer's field, traffic officers reported.

County Traffic Officers Gary Hubers and Roland Gilligan were dispatched from the sheriff's office to the scene of the accident to direct traffice and the clearing away of the wreckage. The four bicycles were loaded on a truck and hauled to the city.

Mr. Marsho rode to the city with the truck.

The fatally injured, both of whome died soon after being admitted to hospitals here, were rushed to the city by John Nissing and Herbert Dittrich, both of Route 1, Sheboygan.

The others were given assistance by John Kaskamp, 716 S. Twenty-third street, Manitowoc.

Coroner Harry Heiden was called to the scene of the accident immediately after it had been reported.

Those young people not physically injured were suffering from shock today after witnessing the tragedy under the full moon that illuminated the highway and fields.

Shoes, bits of clothing, and other personal effects strewn about were later collected by the officers.

District Attorney Jacob A. Fessler said at noon today that he would conduct an investigation.

Rose Ruth DeBack, 15, one of the young people killed last night, was born in Sheboygan in 1921, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William DeBack. She attended the Holy Name school, graduating in 1934. She entered high school and would have been a sophomore this year.

Survivors are her parents, one sister, Betty Jane; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Stuegel, and her grandmother, Mrs. Ed. Beius. Funeral services will be held at the Robert H. Kroos Funeral Home at 8:30 o'clock Saturday morning, and at 9 o'clock at the Holy Name church. The Rt. Rev. Msgt. Philipp Dreis will have charge of the services and burial will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Joseph Kalchthaler, Jr., the other victim in the accident, was also born in the cit on February 11, 1921. He attended the Holy Name school and graduated in June, 1935. In September, 1935, he enrolled at the Pio Nona College at St. Francis, Milwaukee county, and he was to have left next Tuesday to begin his school term.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Ballhorn Funeral Temple, and at 9 a. m. at the Holy Name church. Burial will be made in the family lot at Calvary cemetery and Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will have charge will have charge of the services.

He was a member of the Young Men's Society and Junior Holy Name Society of the Holy Name church. He had a pleasing personality and leaves a host of friends. Survivors are his parents and one brother, Virgil, who is attending Marquette university at Milwaukee.

On Saturday morning Nickolas Krenwinkel committed suicide inthe basement of his home by using gas from a gas-stove. He was found with a shawl over his head sitting next to an open gas valve of the stove. He was born November 19, 1875 in Aurora, Illinois and came to Shebygan in 1911 where he was a machinist at the Vollrath Co. and then worked at the HandKnit Hosiery Co. and the WisconsinSpring Upholstry Co. He was married to Minnie Rickmeyer of Plymouth by whom he is survived with one daughter.

Funeral services for Elmer A. Kuester, 56, of R. 2, Sheboygan Falls, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dean-Huehns Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls.

The Rev. Donald Inloes, pastor of the First Baptist Church at Sheboygan Falls, will officiate. Cremation will follow the services.

Mr. Kuester died Saturday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital after an illness of two weeks.

Born June 11, 1910, in North Fond du Lac, a son of the late August and Amanda Kuester, Mr. Kuester attended elementary schools there and was graduated from North Fond du Lac High School in 1928.

On Dec. 4, 1931, he married Wilma Opgenorth at North Fond du Lac. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1933 and made their home here until moving to Sheboygan Falls in 1950.

Mr. Kuester was employed at the Wisconsin Power and Light Co.'s Edgewater Plant here for 22 years. He worked there both as a machinist and a maintenance man.

Survivors are the widow and a sister, Mrs. Rodley {Helen} Clements of North Fond du Lac.

Viola L. Kaker, 82, of 2310 Indiana Ave., Sheboygan, died at her home, on Thursday afternoon, September 16, 1993.

Mrs. Kaker was born on February 7, 1911, in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Henry and Ottilia {Gartman} Drews. She attended Sheboygan schools.

On September 14, 1946, she married Frank J. Kaker at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1955.

Viola had been employed at the Ross Glove Company for 40 years and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sons, Drew and his wife, Connie Kaker, Jack Kaker, all of Sheboygan and Donnie and his wife, Deborah Kaker, Sheboygan Falls; a daughter, Connie and her husband, Charles Markgraf, Sheboygan; a brother, Harvey and his wife, Ruth Drews, Sheboygan; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.

Eugene M. Koene, 82, of W2688 Cty Tk V, Sheboygan Falls, went home to his Lord on Thursday, October 9, 1997 at St. Nicholas Hospital.

He was born November 12, 1914 in the Town of Wilson, the son of the late William and Gertrude Scharinger Koene. He was married to Evelyn Dyke on August 31, 1940 by the Rev. J.A. Wagner at Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage in the Town of Wilson. They farmed for 57 years. He was a member and past elder of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was deeply devoted to his wife, sons, grandsons and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Rev. Eugene A. Koene of Brooklyn, New York, Ralph {Jennie} Koene of Sheboygan Falls; six grandchildren, Eric {Heather} of Sheboygan, Philip of Delevan, Adam of Sheboygan, Joel {friend, Susan} of Sheboygan, Michael and Stephen Koene of Brooklyn, New York; two great grandchildren, Alexander and Anastasia Koene; one sister, Eleanore Wessel of Appleton and one brother, Joseph Koene of Sunny Ridge Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Stella Koene, a brother, Roman Koene, an infant sister and an infant brother.

Eugene "Geno" W. Koll, 56 of 4023 N. 31st St., Sheboygan, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Sept. 8, 1996.

Eugene was born in Sheboygan on Feb. 5, 1940, a son of the late Walter and Violet {Pierce} Koll. He attended local schools and was a 1958 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School.

On April 23, 1960, he married the former Shelby Neese in Sheboygan.

"Geno" had been employed at Plastics Engineering Company for many years. He also had been a volunteer for the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department for the last 25 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. He enjoyed watching his son's softball games at Wildwood and took pride in and loved his grandchildren very much.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby; four sons, Mark Koll, Ricky {Wendy} Koll, both of Sheboygan; Robbie {Sharon} Koll, Manitowoc and Cory Koll, Sheboygan and his fiancee, Sharon Prahl, Plymouth. He will be missed by his dear grandchildren, Tim, Jenny, Danny, Kyle and Andrew, a sister, Karen {Jim} Hulbert and a brother, Charles {Patricia} Koll, both of Sheboygan.

Mrs. Alvina Katte, 95, formerly of 1601 S. 12th St., died Tuesday morning at Rocky Knoll Health Care facility following a short illness.

The former Alvina Gartman was born Feb. 26, 1891, at Forestville, Wis., a daughter of the late William and Amelia Gartman. She attended the Town of Wilson School.

On Nov. 4, 1908, she married Cornelius Katte in Sheboygan. He died Feb. 12, 1968.

Survivors include a son, Wilbert of Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Badura of Sheboygan; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Private family services were held today at the Huehns Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls.

Burial will be in Kohler Cemetery.

Private family rites will be held Thursday for Cornelius Katte, 80, of 1515-A N. 8th St., who died Monday after a brief illness.

The Rev. T. Parry Jones, minister of the First Methodist Church, will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. services at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Cremation will follow the services.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Katte, Mr. Katte was born in the Netherlands July 10, 1887. The family came to Sheboygan the following year.

Mr. Katte was employed as a street car motorman and later as a bus driver for the Sheboygan City Lines Inc. He retired in 1954.

On Oct. 11, 1952, he married Mrs. Ruth Hahn, also of Sheboygan.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Wilbert Katte, Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph {Wilma} Badura, Sheboygan; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held Saturday for Rose E. Kathke, 87, of 1517-A S. 14th St., who died at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital Thursday morning.

The Rev. S. M. Schreitmueller, pastor of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, will officiate at the 11 a.m. service at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today until time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Kathke's name.

The former Rose Koch was born in Sheboygan on June 1, 1890, a daughter of Andrew and Amelia Gartman Koch. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School.

On Sept. 28, 1911, she married William F. Kathke at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He died in July of 1932.

She had been employed at the Ross Glove Co. for about 20 years.

Mrs. Kathke was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the Monday Senior Citizen Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Roth of Sheboygan and Mrs. Robert {Ruth} O'Driscoll of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Six sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

South Side Shop Owner Is Called; Rites On Friday

William F. Kathke, 2316 South Fourteenth street, who conducted an automobile trimming shop at 1527 South Fourteenth street, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the St. Agnes hospital in Fond du lac, following an operation.

Mr. Kathke was born here on July 15, 1890 and would have been 42 years old on Friday. On September 28, 1911, he was married to Rose Koch in this city. Since that time they had always resided here.

He attended the public schools here until he was fourteen years of age and then worked at the former George Spratt company as an upholsterer until 1921. After that time he went into business for himself.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Ruth and Ernice at home; his father, Herman Kathke; and by five sisters, Mrs. Albert Last, Mrs. Erwin Karl, Mrs. Otto Daehnert, Mrs. Adolph Littmann and Mrs. Rose Hacker, all of this city.

The body will be removed to the residence tonight where it can be viewed until Friday morning, when it will be removed to the Ramm Funeral Home. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Walter Laesch of Our Savior's English Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be in Wildwood cemetery.

William Kathke Is Laid To Rest After Rites Here

The funeral of William F. Kathke, 2316 S. Fourteenth street, who passed away Tuesday at the St. Agnes hospital in Fond du Lac, was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ramm Funeral Home. The Rev. W.W. Laesch officiated and interment was in Wildwood cemetery.

At the service, Mrs. Floyd Pierce and Miss Verna Luebner sang "Just As I Am" and "Savior, I Follow On." Miss Lydia Meyer played the accompaniment.

Pallbearers were Fred Wolfgram, Alfred Peterson, Sr., Richard Schnetzer, William Knaack, William Oberle and Emil Zastrow.

Out-of-town persons at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jacobs and Mrs. Andrew Jacobs of Burlington; Mr. and Mrs. August Zimmerman of Centerville; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gartman of town Wilson; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Paykell of Cleveland; Mrs. Archie Orlebeck, Chicago; William Koch of Elkhorn; Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Dyke of Oostburg; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hessler of town Wilson; Mrs. Albert Gartman and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Gartman of town Wilson, and Miss Beulah Benton of Plymouth.

Mrs. Anna Katte, 81, of 1920 S. 14th St., died early this morning at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born Aug. 23, 1886 in Town Wilson, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Drexler, she attended rural schools and on Jan. 26, 1907 she was married to Edward Katte in Sheboygan.

Her husband died Jan. 9, 1967.

She was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society, and the Apostolate of Suffering.

Surviving are one son, Jerome, of Sheboygan; five daughters, Mrs. Carl {Lenore} Siegl of Plymouth; Mrs. Joseph {Margaret} Booton of Milwaukee, Mrs. Lawrence {Dorothy} Richter of Sheboygan, Mrs. William {LaVerne} Wilson of North Plainfield, N.J., Mrs. John {Luetta} O'Connor of Arlington, Va., 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, two brothers, one son and one daughter.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Ramm Funeral Home followed by a requiem Mass at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert M. Hoeller, celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday until the time of services Monday.

A vigil will be held by the Christian Mothers Society at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by a vigil by members of the Apostolate of Suffering at 7:45 p.m.

Edward Katte, 80, of 1920 S. 14th St., died at St. Nicholas Hospital early today after a lingering illness.

Born in The Netherlands Feb. 21, 1886, a son of the late Cornelius and Wilhelmine Katte, he moved to Sheboygan with his family in 1891 and attended Lincoln School. On Jan. 26, 1907, he married Miss Anna Drexler.

Mr. Katte was employed at Van Der Vaart Brick & Supply Co. for more than 20 years, retiring in 1945.

He was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and the Apostulate of Suffering.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Jerome, of Sheboygan; five daughters, Mrs. Carl {Lenore} Sigel, Plymouth, Mrs. Joseph {Margarette} Booton, Milwaukee, Mrs. George {Dorothy} Richter, Sheboygan, Mrs. William {Laverne} Wilson, Plainfield, N.J., and Mrs. John {Luetta} O'Connor, of Arlington, Va.; 20 grandchildren, and one brother, Cornelius, of Sheboygan.

Besides his parents, two brothers, three sisters, one son and a daughter preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ramm Funeral Home followed by a 10 o'clock funeral Mass at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert M. Hoeller will be celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. A parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and a Good Samaritan vigil at 7:15 p.m.

Wilma L. Kuester, 74, of 2011 N. 21st St., formerly of County PP in Sheboygan Falls, died Monday at St. Nicholas Hospital after a short illness.

The former Wilma Opgenorth was born Feb. 3, 1908, in Sheboygan County, a daughter of Nick and Caroline Gartman Opgenorth. She attended Central High School and was an employee at H.C. Prange Co.

Her marriage to Elmer Kuester took place Dec. 3, 1932. Mr. Kuester died in November 1967.

Mrs. Kuester was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sheboygan Falls, several church women's organizations, and the Sheboygan Falls Garden Club.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Strassburg of North Chicago, Mrs. Verena Schieble and Mrs. Ardelle Brandt, both of Sheboygan.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

Her body has been donated to the Medial College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Guy Dorty will officiate.

A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Kuester's name for the First Baptist Church.

Frank P. Kotnik, 67, of 1910 N. 9th St., a former Sheboygan fireman died today at Rocky Knoll Sanatorium and Hospital after a long illness.

Born Oct. 6, 1897 in Sheboygan, he was a son of the late Frank and Josephine Kotnik. He attended Holy Name Catholic School and was married in Holy Name Church on Jan. 9, 1923, to the former Marie Gartman.

He was employed by the Sheboygan Fire Department from 1924 until 1955, and then by Ace Electric Co. until his illness forced his retirement three years ago.

He was a member of Holy Name Parish, the church's Holy Name Society and the Apostolate of Suffering.

Survivors besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Raymund {Caroline} Gottsacker Jr of Minneapolis, Minn.; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. David Langman of Portland, Ore., and four brothers, Joseph and William Kotnik of Sheboygan, John of Winter, Wis. and Louis of San Diego, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Church, following family rites at 8:30 a.m. at Gerend's Funeral Home. The Rev. A. J. Knackert, pastor will be celebrant of the requiem Mass and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at Gerend's after 3 p.m. Sunday.

Members of the Holy Name Society and St. Luke's Unit of the Good Samaritan Guild will conduct a joint vigil at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Marie Kotnik, 74, formerly of Sheboygan, died early Tuesday morning at the St. Theresa Nursing Home in New Hope, Minn.

The former Marie Gartman was born in the Town of Wilson March 28, 1896, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Gartman. She was married to Frank P. Kotnik on Jan. 9, 1923, at Holy Name Catholic Church.

Her husband, a former Sheboygan fireman, died in November of 1964.

Mrs. Kotnik was a member of the Holy Name Mission Society, St. Anne's Christian Mothers Society, the Apostolate of Suffering and the Catholic Women's Charity Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond {Carolyn} Gottsacker, Edina, Minn.; six grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Grasse, Wauwatosa.

The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, with the Rev. Laurence Waleske, pastor, as celebrant. The Mass will be preceded by brief family rites at 10:30 a.m. at the Gerend Habermann Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

A parish and combined society vigil will be held there at 7 this evening. It will also be attended by members of the St. Luke the Evangelist unit of the Good Samaritan Guild.

Coming as a bolt from a clear sky, the death of Mrs. James Keyes of Waldo, which occurred suddenly at her home last Monday morning has cast a gloom over the residents of that vicinity which will not soon be dispelled. Her sudden demise the news of which spread in a remarkably short time over the county was due to heart failure and was totally unexpected. Mrs. Keyes had arisen at the customary hour and had gone about the performance of her usual household duties. Little any one thought that the Angel of Death lingered so near and when he beckoned her away so swiftly and silent, the poignant pain of her parting struck deep into the hearts of everyone.

Mrs. Keyes was indeed beloved by all who knew her and her loss is keenly felt by many. She was a true friend, and her devotion to those she loved, added brightness to their lives. Nothing but the thought of the loving hand that has removed her reconcile her family to her absence. While she has gone from the scenes, the conflicts and the sorrows of life, she will live forever more in the hearts of those who knew her best. Though she never flaunted her best qualities in the public gaze, yet in seeing her they could not help but know that she was a woman, commanding not only the respect of admiration and love of her family and friends, but commanding it of all who met her and retaining it forever. "God touched her with His finger and she slept" the poet wrote. So we may say of her life - "God touched her with His finger and she slept," but not until the beautiful life was lived, a noble example of patience, fidelity to truth and faith were given.

Mrs. Keyes, whose maiden name was Bridget Eden McNicholas, was born in the town of Mitchell on April 21st, 1866. She resided there until her marriage to James Keyes which took place in Oct. 1885, after which the couple took up their residence in the town of Lyndon {Sheboygan county} where they have since resided. Besides her husband she is survived by five children, Mrs. Edwin Kuestner of Waunakee; Rov of Richmond, Wis.; Robert of West Allis; Orton and Henry of Waldo; three brothers, Patrick McNicholas, Plymouth; Frank McNicholas, Reedsville and James McNicholas, two sisters, Mrs. John Brogan of Mitchell and Mrs. Sullivan of Milwaukee.

The funeral services were held Thursday morning at St. Mary's church in Cascade. Rev. Hoog conducted the services, after which the body was borne to its last resting place amid a bower of flowers in the church cemetery. The pall was borne by the nephews of the deceased, Francis McNicholas, Dr. Brogan, Wm. Brogan, J. Brogan, Robert Godfrey and Joseph Keyes. The floral offerings were bounteous and beautiful, evidencing the esteem and respect in which the deceased was held. Among those from away who attended the last sad rites were Mrs. O'Neill and Mrs. Sullivan of Milwaukee; Dr. Brogan, J. Brogan and Robert Keyes of West Allis; Francis McNicholas, Iron Mountain, Mich.; Frank McNicholas, Reedsville; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Kuestner of Waunakee; Mr. and Mrs. P.H. McNicholas and daughters; the Misses Marguerite, Mayme, Cecilia and Rosalia of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Dan O'Leary, Mr. and Mrs. John O' Hearn, M. O'Connell and daughter Miss Maud O'Connell, Mr. and Mrs. George O'Connell, Morgan O'Connell, Dan Keeley, John O'Neill, Martin O'Neill, Ed. Lenann, Daniel Lenann, M. Mullins and Wm. Mullins of Reedsville.

On Thursday afternoon at 1/2 past 10 o'clock Mrs. Wm. J. Keyes formerly Miss Ella Murray died at her home about two miles north of Cascade. The young woman was a former teacher of this county and well known in educational circles, she leaves a husband, five children, and many dear friends that mourn her early death. The funeral takes place this morning at 10 o'clock.

Mrs. Ella Keyes, wife of W.J. Keyes of the town of Lyndon, passed away Thursday afternoon, death being caused by a complication of diseases. While she appeared to be in failing health for some time past, no serious appre{hension was felt until she {{?} July when there was a decided change for the worse in her condition, and from that time on she failed rapidly. Grouped about her bedside when the end came, were her husband and children, her parents and sisters.

Mrs. Keyes, whose maiden name was Ella Murray, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Murray of the town of Mitchell {Sheboygan county}, and was a lady held in the highest esteem throughout the community. She was born in the town of Mitchell forty years ago on the 7th of March and had always made her home in this vicinity. Her marriage to W.J. Keyes occurred in the year 1880. Her death at this time is an extremely sad blow, and the sympathy of all goes out to her husband and the children in their great sorrow. The eldest of the five children who survive, is a boy of fourteen years, and the youngest but a mere child, besides whom she leaves her parents, three sisters, Mesdames J.F. Gill of Iron Mountain, Mich., W.J. Scanlon and T.J. Rodes of Milwaukee and one brother, James Murphy of Iron Mountain.

The funeral took place from the house at ten o'clock Saturday forenoon, followed by services at St. Mary's Catholic church in Cascade, the burial taking place in St. Mary's cemetery. The Rev. B.J. Burke conducted the services while the funeral was directed by Undertaker Lorge of Plymouth.

Word has been reached here of the death of Mrs. Frank P. Keating, occurring at her home in Duluth, Minn., Oct. 28th. The funeral was held Saturday morning from St. John's Cathedral at Duluth and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery beside her two brothers, Thomas and Robert Murphy, who preceded her in death only a few years ago.

Mrs. Elizabeth Murphy Keating was born in the town of Mitchell in 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Murphy, formerly of the town of Mitchell but now of Duluth. She passed her childhood days in that vicinity and will be remembered by a host of friends as a light hearted school girl, a warm friend and a genial companion. Later in her life, the family moved to Sheboygan and then to Duluth. She was married to Frank P. Keating in 1897 and has lived in Duluth since that time. Surviving her are her husband and children, Marie, of Minneapolis; Raymond, Julie, Kathrine, Edward, Kenneth and Frances. She also leaves her father John Murphy of Duluth; Edward of Iowa and Joseph of New York; two sisters, Katherine and Mrs. Fred Roth of Detroit, Mich. Her mother Julia Donohue Murphy died about fifteen years ago. Mrs. Keating is a niece of Mr. Peter Murphy of Milwaukee, formerly {Article cut off}

Mrs. Mary Kaiser, 68 years old, pioneer resident of this state, died at her home in the town of Scott Tuesday. Chronic Rheumatism was the cause of death. William Kaiser of this city was her brother-in-law.

Mrs. Kaiser was well known in this county {Sheboygan} where she had lived many years. She was married at Cascade 49 years ago, her husband dying in 1916.

Besides two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Seil and Mrs. James Flanaghan, she leaves five sons, John, Phillip, George, Joseph and Herbert Kaiser, one sister, Mrs. Peter Seil of the town of Scott and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the St. Mary's Catholic church at Cascade yesterday, conducted by the Rev. D. Regan. Burial {will be} made in St. Mary's cemetery.

Mrs. Melissa Kaiser passed away at her home this morning after a long illness. The deceased had been confined to her bed for some time and her death was not unexpected.

Mrs. Kaiser, whose maiden name was Rood, was born in the town of Lyndon {Sheboygan county} sixty-seven years ago. She has always made her home in the community and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends.

Surviving her are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Frank Kretschmer, Adell; Mrs. George Goodwin, San Francisco; Mrs. Bert Patten, West Allis; Mrs. Walter Menske, Milwaukee; three sons, Leonard and Henry, town of Mitchell and Charles of Random Lake. A brother, John Rood of Wausau and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Long, Estey, No. Dakota and Mrs. J.W. Doherty of San Francisco, also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning. Rev. July of St. John's Catholic church will conduct a mass beginning at half-past eight after which the body will be taken to Cascade where it will be laid to rest in the cemetery of St. Mary's Catholic church.

Mrs. John F. Kennedy {formerly Catherine Plant} died last Friday afternoon at half past five o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.A. Cary, in Manitowoc, Wis.

Mrs. Kennedy was born in Cork, Ireland, July 16th, 1835, she emigrated to this country with her grandparents, {her parents had preceded them in the year previous,} when four years old. She was reared and educated in Cambridge near Boston, Mass., and when sixteen years of age, she with her parents came to Wisconsin and settled on the farm, long known as Sunny Hill farm, one and on-fourth miles north of Five Corners. In 1861, Nov. 4th, she was married to John F. Kennedy who preceded her in death, twelve years last December 24th, since which time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. C.A. Cary.

She is survived by eight children, thirty-four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The children are: Nellie, Mrs. C. A. Cary; George, who lives in Green Bay; Eva, Mrs. C.G. Browne, Sheboygan; John, Manitowoc, Wis.; May, Mrs. Al Pierce, Hingham; Jos. E., Oshkosh; Fannie, Mrs. T.F. Franey, Plymouth; and Charles, Bedford, Indiana.

The funeral was Monday morning, at ten o'clock at St. Rose's church, near Five Corners, Father Knackert officiated at Requiem High Mass, and she was interred in the churchyard beside her husband.

The trip from Manitowoc was made by automobile. Among those from away who attended the funeral were: George Plant, and daughter, Helen, and Mrs. Anna Plant Smith of Milwaukee; Will Cary and sister Alice Cary Willott of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Webb Kennedy, Green Bay; Atty. and Mrs. Hugh Rooney, Plymouth; Mrs. Shaw, Milwaukee; Dr. and Mrs. Tasche, Mr. Schuette, Mrs. McGlue, Miss Nellie O'Connor, Mrs. Mary Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Kennedy, Mrs. John Ingelse, Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. John Phalen, Mrs. Fricke, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ogle and daughter Frankie, Mrs. John Delavan, Grandma Delavan, Frank Kennedy, Sheboygan Falls; Mr. Sam Ogle, daughter Etta and son James, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Ogle and son Sam, Waldo, and Miss Fanny Miley, Manitowoc.

In many ways, Mrs. Kennedy was a remarkable woman. She was gifted with an inborn refinement, which enabled her to meet every condition with perfect calmness, and she never failed to respond to any little act of kindness or courtesy shown her, with a "God bless you, dear," or "Thank you, dearie."

Her family of four sons and four daughters were with her at the end, as she quietly and peacefully passed on to her Heavenly Home.

With feeling of deep regret we chronicle the death of Mrs. George Kolb, who was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.H. Murphy of the town of Mitchell. Lydia Murphy was born in the town of Mitchell, Feb. 16, 1880. She was much loved and respected by all her friends and acquaintances, on account of her sunny disposition and kind heart. Her death was unusually sad and came as a severe shock to her many relatives and friends.

While attending to her household duties at her home in Chicago last Tuesday her clothing caught fire from a gas stove and before she realized what had occurred, was enveloped in flames. She was alone at the time, and was very severely burned when help arrived. They immediately removed her to a hospital where everything possible was done to relieve her suffering, but it was impossible to save her life and she passed away Friday night, surrounded by members of her family and fortified by the sacraments of the church.

Her remains were brought to Milwaukee the next day and taken to the home of her sister, Mr. H. Denesues. The funeral was held from St. Thomas's Church Monday and burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. The pall bearers were six cousins Thomas Rooney, George Lindsay, Thomas Dwyre, John, Jerry and Mike Crosby. She leaves to mourn her untimely death her parents, five brothers, W. J. Murphy, Henry and Maurice of Milwaukee, Raymond of Savannah, Ill., and George of Mitchell {Sheboygan county}, three sisters, Mrs. F. Ebelt of Dundee, Ia., Mrs. H. Denesues of Milwaukee, Miss Kittie Murphy of Muirdale Hospital, Wauwatosa besides her husband and a little son, Jerome, aged eight years.

The sympathy of the community is extended to the sorrowing family in their bereavement.

We cannot portray the kindness of heart, and sterling worth of her who was so suddenly taken from our midst, but can only say the world is better for her having lived in it. May she rest in peace.

A Friend.

The home of Dr. John P. Koehler in Milwaukee was made extremely sad on Thanksgiving Day, when at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, the unrelentless hand of death was pressed upon Mrs. Koehler and her spirit was beckoned to the eternal home. The message came to Plymouth {Sheboygan county} and as the new was imparted to the homes of many good friends of the decedent, it brought deep sorrow everywhere.

Mrs. Harriet Haase Koehler was born in Plymouth {Sheboygan county}on Aug. 16, 1883 and spent her days here until her marriage to Dr. Koehler, which took place in 1910. She was the daughter and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Haase, her father having passed away a few years ago. Mrs. Koehler was a favorite with all from her childhood, being exceptionally gifted as a vocalist and also talented on the piano and violin. The decedent began the study of music before arriving in her teens and from the first gave evidence that she was more than ordinarily gifted. Attending the public schools in this city and later the High School, from which she graduated with the class of 1900, she followed her study of music more extensively, her voice having materialized beautifully both in tone and in volume under the tutorship of Miss Louise Conover, with the result that she was much in demand at social gatherings, entertainments, etc.

Mrs. Koehler was possessed of a charming soprano voice, tis true, but not more so than she was charming otherwise. She also possessed an ideal disposition, which kindled a feeling of joyousness wherever she was wont to go. This, coupled with her attractive manner and kind smile won for her friends in abundance everywhere and the friendships were of a kind that made her tremendously popular.

Miss Harriet Haase was wedded to Dr. J.P. Koehler in Milwaukee on Jan. 15, 1910. At that time he was an athletic instructor at Marquette College, but later followed the practice of medicine in that city, besides which at the present time, he is an assistant to Dr. Ruhland of the Milwaukee health department. {Article cut in two here.}

...During her stay in Milwaukee she kept her voice in good training by singing at the regular services at some of the best churches in that city, having been the soloists at Wesley M.E. Presbyterian {?} Congregational churches and long time {?} {Article cut again} at the Jewish synagogue in the {?}

Mrs. Koehler became ill re{cently} with influenza, following the ill{ness} of their son with the same malady. {Article cut again.}

That a heavy sorrow has been cast upon the lonely husband and son Carl Peter, aged eight years and the surviving mother, no one will doubt, for they enjoyed in full the companionship and affection that she was ever ready to bestow upon her loved ones. These sorrowing ones and her friends have the consolation to know that she will sing in the heavenly choir and there await the coming of those she held most dearly.

Funeral services for Miss Mary J. Kilcoin, 69, Milwaukee, who passed away Saturday afternoon at Columbia hospital, in that city, were held Thursday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cascade.

The Rev. Louis F. Schmidt, pastor, was celebrant of the requiem high mass, assisted by the ladies choir, with Mrs. Lorraine Butler organist. Brief rites at the J.W. Nieman Sons Funeral Home, Milwaukee at 8 o'clock preceded the church service. Burial was {at the} church cemetery with {?} and Byron Bilgo, {?} Gonia, Norman Heraty and {?}ck Slattery as pallbearers.

"Mayme" as Miss Kilcoin was commonly known, was an annual visitor, to Cascade and nothing pleased her more when here, than to call on friends and former neighbors. As a girl, she attended the local elementary school and later assisted her parents in keeping roomers and serving meals, which she continued to do until she, her father and two sisters moved to Milwaukee in 1929. She kept on in that work until after her father's death. Then she worked at the Ordnance plant for some time and for ten years prior to her retirement. {Article cut off}.

Christian Koeser, aged 48, will-known town of Schleswig farmer passed away suddenly at his farm home on Friday afternoon at 4:30.

The deceased, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Koeser, was born February 28, 1892 on the Koeser homestead farm inthe town of Schleswig, now owned by his brother Herman.

On December 27, 1913 he was married to Miss Sophie Rosso of the town of Newton, the marriage being performed by teh Rev. Mr. Vriessen. The couple immediately located on their present farm home where they resided for 23 years.

Survivors are his wife, a daughter, Arlene, at home; five brothers: Herman on the homestead farm, Charles of NEwton, Louis of town of RHine, John of Millhome, and Emil of the town of Schleswig, and three sisters: Mrs. August Voelker of Colby, Mrs. Sophie Bebermeiere of Millhorne, and Mrs. Jennie Schaar of New Holstein. One son, Raymond, passed away several years ago.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 1:30 o;clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 2 o'clock at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed Church, with the Rev. E.L. Worthman officiaiting. Burial was made in the Kiel cemetery.

The two month old child of Mr. and Mrs. Fran Konasich, 923 Indiana ave died at 8 o'clock this morning of diphtherias. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning from the home at 8:30 o'clock. Interment will be in the South Side Catholic cemetery. Rev. Van Treeck will officiate at the services.

Joseph Kahn, 53, prominint Chilton merchant, died Sunday morning at Mount Sinai hospital, Milwaukee, where he had been a patient since Friday.

Mr. Kahn, while in poor health four years, continued to supervise operation of department stores in Chilton and Plymouth. He went to Milwaukee late last week to consult a specialist who ordered him moved to a hospital at once.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at Chilton under Masonic auspices. The body was taken to Chicago, where rites will be held Turesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Piser funeral home.

Mr. Kahn was born in Russia in 1886 and at the age of 20, came to New York city. Later he located to Chicago and took up the mercantile business. In 1927, he came to Chilton to establish the Farmers' Exchange store. In 1936 he established a store in Plymouth.

Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Bensman of Milwaukee, Mrs. Leo Brodsky, of Plymouth; two sons Albion and Leo, both of Chilton; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. August Kasten, aged 82 died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Lorenz, 715-1/2 S. Thirteenth street, Wednesday evening at 6:30 o'clock.

She was born in Cooperstown, Wis., on February 20, 1853, and was united in marriage to August Kasten in 1874. Her husband preceded her in death in 1922, and since 1927 Mrs. Kasten had been making her home with her daughter.

Survivors are four children, Mrs. Albert Lorenz of this city, Mrs. Ren Brown and Louis Kasten, both of Rhinelander, and John Kasten of Merrill, Wis. Four children, Annie, Charles, William and Clara preceded her in death.

Among the bereaved are also one sister, Mrs. Hengel of Denmark, 1? grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Steffen Funeral chapel where the body may be viewed from Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock until the hour of the services. The Rev. E. R. Krueger of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church will officiate at the services and interment will be made in Wildwood cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. August Kasten, aged 82, who passed away Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Lorenz, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Steffen Funeral chapel, Rev. Mrs. Charles Ehmann of Rhinelander, Mrs. Minnie Hengel of Denmark and Mr. and Mrs. George Vogel and family of Green Bay.

The last sad rites for Fred H. Krueger were conducted Tuesday at 1:30 o'clock at the home of the deceased and at 2 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran church, the Rev. Martin Schmidt officiating. Miss Evelyn Wittkopp who was accompanied at the organ at the church by Prof. Leyhe, sang "Tarry My Soul."

John Konec, 59, of 714 Swift Ave., died at St. Nicholas Hospital today where he had been a patient one week.

He and his wife ran a tavern, Johnny's Bar at S. 12th and Swift for 10 years. He was employed at Kohler Co. for 11 years until illness forced his retirement in February, 1974.

He was born in Stone City, Kan. on July 4, 1915, the son of the late Fred and Mary Konec. He attended grade school in Kansas and moved to Sheboygan in 1929 with his family where he attended Longfellow School and Sheboygan Vocational School. He later attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

On Oct. 8, 1938, he married Mrs. Lydia Freitag of Sheboygan.

During World War II Mr. Konec was employed at the Manitowoc shipyards.

He was a member of Town and Country Golf Club and the CCC Club.

Survivors are his widow; a step-son, Donald Freitag of Sheboygan; a step-daughter, Mrs. Leo {Mavis} Stauber of Sheboygan; four grandchildren; two brothers, George of Nevada, Iowa and Fred of Madison, and two sisters, Mrs. George Scafoni of Burlingame, Calif., and Mrs. Rudolph Zardoni of Chicago.

A sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. Earl Finnigsmier, pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Sophia M. Klein, 82, 1415 N. 4th St., widow of Charles J., died early Sunday at Morningside Nursing Home following a long illness.

The former Sophia Acker, she was born in Sheboygan, Aug. 5, 1892, a daughter of Clemens and Mary Luib Acker.

She attended Holy Name Catholic School.

On May 5, 1913, she married Mr. Klein, at Holy Name Church. He died April 17, 1952.

She was a member of Holy Name Parish, its St. Anne Christian Mothers and Altar Society, Apostolate of Suffering and St. Luke the Evangelist Unit, Good Samaritan Guild.

Surviving are a son, Carlos, Waterloo, Iowa; a daughter, Miss Virginia Klein of Sheboygan, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday with a 10 a.m. Mass at Holy Name Church, the Rev. James Beck, associate pastor, celebrant, following family rites at 9:30 at the Kroos-Mason Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Members of the parish, St. Luke the Evangelist Unit of the Good Samaritan Guild and St. Anne Society will hold a vigil at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Adolph L. Kregel, 60, 1404 Marie Ct., Sheboygan, died Saturday at St. Nicholas Hospital after a short illness.

He was born in West Allis, June 25, 1914, a son of the late Joseph and Josephine Kregel. He came to Sheboygan as a child.

He married Marie Smrke, Jan. 27, 1951

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was part of operations in the Pacific.

Mr. Kregel had been employed by Armour Leather Co., now Armira Corp.

He was a member of VFW Memorial Post 9156.

Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mary Jo and JoAnn, both at home, and four brothers, Joseph Jr., William and John, all of Sheboygan, and Bernard of Oak Park, Ill.

Two brothers in infancy preceded him in death.

The funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 11 a.m., at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, preceded by brief rites at the Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home at 10:30; The Rev. Louis Koren, pastor, will be celebrant of Mass. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.

Mrs. Minnie Knuppel, 82, of Havana, Ill., widow of John and a former resident of Sheboygan, died Saturday morning at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born in Steinthal {Manitowoc County} on April 8, 1892, daughter of the late William and Minnie Brunkhorst Witte, and married Mr. Knuppel in Havana. He preceded her in death.

She was a resident of Sheboygan for seven years and was employed at a local dress shop. She frequently returned here to visit.

Survivors include three nieces of Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Havana. Burial will be in Havana Cemetery.

Garret J. Kempink, 89, of Cedar Grove, died early Sunday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. He had been a resident of Pine Haven Nursing Home since April, 1974.

Born in the Town of Holland on March 10, 1855, he was a son of Hendrik and Willemina Kempink.

In December, 1908, he married Jennie Jentink in Hingham.

They farmed in the Town of Holland until 1944 when they moved to Cedar Grove. Mrs. Kempink died Aug. 31, 1969.

He was a member of First Reformed Church, Cedar Grove.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert {Florence} Hasseler of Sheboygan' two sons, Harold of R. 1, Cedar Grove, and Marvin of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three grandchildren and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Reformed Church, the Rev. Cornelius Hoekstra, pastor, officiating. Family services will be at 2:15 in the church choir room. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Despondent He Hung Himself in the Woodshed in Rear of Home on Erie Avenue at an Early Hour This Morning. Wife Only Recently Brought Home from Hospital. She Was Severely Burned Last December.

Brooding over the misfortune that had befallen his wife, who was severely burned last winter and himself ill, John Kraus went out into the woodshed in the rear of the residence at 4 o'clock this morning and two hours later his lifeless body was found by Mrs. Anna Mertz.

He had hung himself just in front of the entrance way, using a wash line which he had thrown over a rafter. Running back to the house Mrs. Mertz notified the wife, who was ill in bed, and had only been home from the hospital a few days, and then hastened out to summon some neighbors. Dr. Knauf the coroner was immediately summoned and after viewing the body it was removed to the house and an undertaker was sent for.

Kraus was employed out at the Kohler plant until about a week ago when he complained of not feeling well and during the past week had not been to work. When his wife was brought home from the hospital a few days ago Mrs. Mertz was employed to care for her, as she is still under the physician's care and will never be a well woman again.

On December 23rd last while pouring kerosene oil in a cook stove she was severely burned about her head and body. Much of her clothing was burned from her body and she suffered severe burns about her chest and head.

Mr. Kraus was born in Russia, 38 years ago and had been in this country about three years, and the greater portion of that time had been employed at the Kohler plant. Besides his wife he is survived by two brothers and three sisters.

The scene is a sad one in the home, for the wife is in delicate health, and it is understood that she has very little if anything to live on. Here is an opportunity for the people of Sheboygan to lend assistance, and assist right now.

Timely Arrival of Gasoline Launch John P. Reiss, Jr. Saves Joseph Zoiz and Frank Bregar - - Body Recovered

Otto Kupsick, an employee of the C. Reiss Coal Co., was drowned 300 feet off the south pier at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon, while two companions who were with him in a boat, had narrow escapes, being rescued by a gasoline launch and crew of the steamer John P. Reiss.

Yesterday afternoon Otto Kupsick, Joseph Zoiz and Frank Bregar borrowed a boat and went out in the lake, and several who passed them remarked about the reckless manner in which they were acting. Not content with rocking the boat they were changing about in the craft. When some three hundred feet south of the pier Kupsick stood up in the boat and then pitched overboard. It was supposed that in this position he lost his balance. As he plunged into the lake, the other occupants were thrown out and the three were fighting for life. Zoiz and Bregar were able to keep themselves afloat by holding to the craft, but Kupsick who could not swim, failed to reach the craft and shortly afterwards went down. Lookout Barney Brown witnessed the accident and the surf boat was rushed to the point, but in the meantime the gasoline launch John P. Reiss, Jr. had reached the scene and rescued the two, Zoiz and Bregar, the latter being about ready to give up when he was pulled from the lake.

The work of recovering the body of Kupsick was then undertaken by Captain Dionne and his men and two hours later it was brought to the surface and taken to the undertaking parlors of Jacob Gerend where it is being prepared for burial.

William Leng, chief engineer and Fred Grimmett, firemen on the steamer John P. Reiss came to the rescue of Zoiz and Bregar, and their arrival was none too soon, for Bregar was about to give up, and when taken out of the water was unconscious. He soon rallied and both were questioned as to the name of the drowned man but could give no information.

Otto Kupsick resided at 1732 South Seventh street, at the home of Martin Gruenke, and was employed at the C. Reiss Coal docks. He was 27 years of age and unmarried. The testimony of the two survivors will be taken as to the events that transpired just previous to the death of Kupsick. It is believed that Kupsick while standing up lost his balance and fell in and his companions in an effort to save him, lost their heads and pitched from the craft.

At the point where the body was recovered the water is 30 feet in depth. The funeral will be held Saturday morning with interment in the south side Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Frank Kehl, a well known resident of Sheboygan Falls, passed away at her home at 6:30 a.m. today. She took sick Thursday evening with Spanish Influenza, which later developed into heart trouble and resulted fatally.

She was born in Germany and reached the age of 44 years. At the age of 7 she migrated with her mother and two sisters, Mrs. John Kruse and Miss Minnie, the latter, who died several years ago, to this country, and at first settled in Plymouth where they remained only a short time when they removed to Sheboygan Falls where she since resided. Mrs. Kehl was a member of the Ladies Society of the German Lutheran church.

Mrs. Kehl is survived by a husband and one son, Howard of Sheboygan Falls and one sister, Mrs. John Kruse, Route No. 2, Sheboygan.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the family residence. Rev. Blehusen, pastor of the German Lutheran church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Sheboygan Falls cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Gustave Kreuter, who died Saturday afternoon at her home at Deckers Corners, near Cedarburg, was held Monday afternoon. She had many relatives in this city. They are: Ernst and Albert Kreuter, Mrs. Jacob Schlicht, Mrs. George Goodell and Mrs. John Giblin.

A funeral Mass for Vincent R. Kolar, 55, who died of a heart attack Thursday while at work at Armour Leather Co., will be offered Monday at 10 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. The Rev. Louis Koren, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery. Mass will be preceded by brief family rites at 9:30 at the Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home.

Born July 14, 1916, in Kenosha, he was a son of the late Matt and Agnes Kolar. He came to Sheboygan with his family as a child and attended local schools.

On Dec. 1, 1951, he married Daniella Schuster at Ss. Cyril and Melodius Church.

During World War II he served as a sergeant in the Army and was stationed in Iran.

He was employed at Armour Leather for over 30 years.

Survivors are his wife; his mother; two daughters, Marianne and Kathleen, both at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Alphonse Jakum of Sheboygan and Mrs. Anton Fabian of Joliet, Ill.

He was a member of Ss. Cyril Parish; KSKJ Lodge 144; Coration Catholic Union, Holy Trinity Lodge 22; Armour Leather Recreation Club; Armour Union Local 325; Riverview Club, and Zieggy's Club. He was secretary of the American Friday Night Good Fellowship Bowling League.

Death once more snatched from this earth a young girl whose short life gave promise of a splendid future, and whose character foretold nothing but the best type of future citizen.

That and more was Miss Delila Koffernus, the 14-years-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Koffernus, 1534 North Twelfth street, who died at the St. Nicholas hospital at 8:30 o'clock this morning of sarcoma of the arm after an illness of over four months, which only for the past four weeks confined her to the hospital.

Miss Koffernus was born in this city on Jan. 28, 1903, and lived here all her life. She attended the Trinity Lutheran school and was confirmed in the spring of 1916. In June of this year she graduated from the Eighth grade at the Horace Mann school, in spite of her illness and constant pains. She determined to attend school and graduate with her class, and for nearly three months she hardly missed a day, even though unable to use her left arm, swollen and evidently the seat of her trouble. Four days after her graduation she was operated on in the hospital, and with the combined attention of several local physicians slowly improved in strength. Last night she suffered a severe relapse, which ended in her death this morning.

Besides her parents one younger sister, aged 10, survive.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the house and at 2 o'clock from the Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. C. P. Schulz officiating. Interment will be made at the Wildwood cemetery.

Lee Kunstman, 66, a resident of Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, Sheboygan County, for the past three years, died there on Sunday, April 26, 1998 following a lengthy illness.

Lee was born Feb. 11, 1932 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Christ and Marie Richter Kunstman. He attended Sheboygan schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School with the class of 1950. Throughout the years, Lee worked in various capacities at a number of places of employement in Sheboygan.

Lee is survived by one sister, Eileen {Ray} Peltier, Kenosha, Wis. and additional extended family members in Sheboygan.

A memorial service for Lee will be conducted on Thursday, April 30, 1998 at Ramm-Ziegler-Novak-Rettke Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, at 4 p.m. The Rev. Martinho Q. Sander, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Sophie C. Kistner, 76, of 916 Huron Ave., died Monday afternoon at St. Nicholas Hospital.

The former Sophie C. Jeskis was born Sept. 12, 1909 in Port Washington, a daughter of the late William and Josephine Jeskis.

She attended Port Washington schools.

She married Anton Kistner, who preceded her in death in June 1972.

Mrs. Kistner was employed at Ross Glove Co. for 15 years until retiring.

She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, its St. Ann Christian Mothers Society, and the Holy Name Mission Societies, and of the St. Nicholas Hospital auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons; a daughter; nine grandchildren; and a brother.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, preceded by family rites at 9:30 a.m. at the Kroos-Mason-Rettke Funeral Home. The Rev. James Hess, co-pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Lora Beverly Kohman, 69, formerly a resident of St. Nicholas Apartments, died at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility Tuesday, June 1. Funeral services are planned for Friday. Ballhorn Funeral Chapels is in charge or arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, a granddaughter, two grandsons, three sisters and a brother. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and an infant grandson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop James Christiansen will officiate. Burial will take place in the Wildwood Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at Church.

Ida Klug Kruschke, age 82, of Adell, Wisc., died peacefully early Saturday morning, June 5, 1999, at Brookside Assisted Living in Waldo where she has been a resident the past month.

She was born May 15, 1917 in the town of Mitchell, a daughter of the late John and Emma Triphan Buechel. She attended the Ideal School in the town of Mitchell.

On Feb. 25, 1935 she married Milton Klug. The couple made their home in the town of Sherman. Her husband preceded her in death in Nov. of 1961.

She had been employed at Amity Leather in West Bend for 25 years, retiring in 1979.

On June 25, 1966 she married Clarence {Max} Kruschke, and they lived in the town of Lyndon. He preceded her in death Dec. 26, 1991.

She has been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell and later became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade.

Ida enjoyed playing cards with her friends, spending time in the outdoors, was an avid Brewers' fan, and loved crocheting.

Survivors include two sons, one daughter, two step-sons, on step-daughter, two daughters-in-law, 10 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. The Rev. Bryan Osladil, pastor of the church will officate. Burial will be in Emmanual Lutheran Cemetery.

Hope Marie Koehler, infant daughter died at birth on Monday, June 7, 1999 at Valley view Medical Center, Plymouth.

She is survived by her parents, maternal grandparents, maternal great-grandfather, and paternal great-grandmother. She is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mrs. Shirley L. Kallas, age 71, formerly of Sheboygan, a resident of Bradenton, Fla., died on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Brandenton. Graveside services will be at Wildwood Cemetery on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Wildwood Cemetery. Lippert Funeral Home is serving the family.

John Klauck, 86, of 1116 Lincoln avenue, died at St. Nicholas hospital Wednesday afternoon of injuries he received Tuesday in an accident near his home.

Dr. Wesley Van Zanten, county coroner, said Mr. Klauck was helping push a cart loaded with wood up a driveway when the cart rolled back down the incline felling the aged man and running over him. He suffered a broken hip and shoulder.

Last November Mr. And Mrs. Klauck had observed their 60th wedding anniversary.

He was born on May 17, 1860, in Town Meeme, Manitowoc county, a son of John and Mary Klauck, and attended parochial schools. He was married to Kunigunda Winter of St. Anna on Nov. 10, 1885, in Kiel, by the Rev. August Schleier at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Eight years after marriage the couple moved from a farm at St. Anna to the Klauck homestead, near Kiel, residing there until 1911 when they sold the farm and moved to Kiel. Since Aug. 2, 1924, Mr. Klauck was a resident of Sheboygan, and for a period of 11 years worked as a city employee, later retiring.

He was a member of Holy Name {Catholic} church and Holy Name society of the Parish. Survivors are the widow and seven children: Mrs. Albert {Emma} Graf, Mrs. Jacob {Ida} Henschel and Arthur, of Kiel, Edward of New Holstein, Mrs. Joseph {Sally} Schnur, Mrs. Harry {Teckla} Bohnsack, of Sheboygan, and Miss Anna Klauck at home. There are also 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren in the family group.

Other survivors are three brothers, Frank, of Kiel, Henry of Withee, Wis., and Ben, of Milwaukee, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Meinert and Mrs. Maggie Hein, both of Kiel, and Mrs. Frank Grott of Cleveland Wis., and many nieces and nephews.

Brief funeral services will held at the Kroos Funeral home Saturday at 10:00 a.m., and at Holy Name church with a requiem high mass at 10:30 a. m. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Philipp Dreis will officiate. Interment is to be made on the family lot in Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Friday morning until the hour of services.

All members of the Holy Name society of Holy Name parish are requested to attend the vigil in the praying of the rosary for their deceased member at the Kroos Funeral home Friday evening at 8 o�clock.

Jacob Konrad was born in the town of Mosell, Sheboygan county Wisconsin, March 6, 1863, being 52 years, 10 months and 10 days of age at his death.

He spent his young manhood in the vicinity of his birth and on September 11, 1890, was united in marriage to Miss Kate Douglas of Cascade, Wisconsin. They resided on a farm in the town of Lima, Sheboygan county, until 1905, when they moved to the Town of Hull, purchasing the Charles Raether farm, which was his home up until his death.

Mr. Konrad was a man well thought of in the community where he lived, and always took an active part in events transpiring about him. he was a man of strong personality and good judgement, honest and fearless in all his undertakings, and inclined to look upon the bright side of life. He was a prominent member of the A. S. of E. and the M. W. A. and in these organizations he was a faithful worker for the advancement of each, and his wise counsels will be greatly missed by his associates.

For the past few years, Mr. Konrad has been in failing health. he sought relief in many places but nothing seemed to answer the purpose. About six weeks ago he went to Sacred Heart Sanitarium, Milwaukee, in the hope that it might prolong his life, but to no avail. He passed away Sunday morning, January 16, 1916.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife and three children, Perry, Mary and Eugene, of the Town of Hull, besides his mother, Mrs. A. M. Konrad of Sheboygan county, and four sisters, Mrs. Charles Trutschel of Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. H. F. Thiedemann and Mrs. C. B. Schultz of Plymouth and Mrs. M. E. Keyes of Cascade.

The funeral was held from St. John's Evangelical church in this city, Reverend R. R. Braddick officiating. Those attending the funeral from out of town were, Mrs. F. Douglas of Withee, and H. F. Thiedemann and C. B. Schultz of Plymouth.

Mrs. Ernestine Kerwin, 84, of 413 N. Ninth St.passed away Sunday afternoon at the Memorial hospital after an illness.

She was born in Germany on Sept. 3, 1862, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Skulsky. In 1884 she was married to Louis Kerwin. The couple came to this country, settling in Sheboygan in 1888. They have resided here since. Mr. Kerwin died in 1939.

The deceased was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include, six children. Fred and Karl of Sheboygan, Mrs. Otto {Caroline}Uttech of Sheboygan, Emil of Kohler, Henry of route 2, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Calvin {Esther} Hogue of Sheboygan; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Wed. at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels with Rev. F. A. Brauer officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot a Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wesley and Wilbert Kerwin, the Rev. William Uttech, Otto Uttech, Jr. Kennth Braatz, and Elmer Eggert.

Mrs. Arno Krueger and Mrs. J. Arthur Koss will sing during the service.

Andrew Kock, 1023 High Avenue died last evening after a brief illness. Death resulted from apoplexy. He was 69 years old and has made Sheboygan his home for many years. His wife and seven children survive, William, Mrs. Andrew {Anna} Jacobs, Mrs. August {Caroline} Moenning, Mrs. Herman {Kathryn} Hinz, Mrs. Fred {Louise} Grasse, Mrs. Adolph {Millie} Schillingoski and Mrs. William {Rose} Kalhlaske {sic, Kathke}.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from his late home. The Rev. Horstmeier of the German Reformed Church will officiate. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Emilie Gartmann Koch, 88, widow of Andrew Koch, passed away at 4:30 a.m. today at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Herman {Kathryn} Hintz, 1023 High avenue.

Mrs. Koch was born in Brandenburg, Germany, May 23, 1850, and came to this country at the age of three years with her parents. She attended Trinity Lutheran school and was confirmed by the Rev. Mr. Stecher. On May 20, 1870, she was united in marriage with Andrew Koch of this city. The couple lived in Hancock, Mich., for 12 years, and then returned to this city.

Survivors are: six daughters and a son, Mrs. Andrew {Anna} Jacobs, Mrs. August {Caroline} Moening, Mrs. Herman Hintz, Mrs. Rose Kathke, Mrs. Millie Schillingosky and William Koch, all of this city; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Gartman, town Wilson, and Mrs. August {Anna} Zimmermann, town of Centerville; and a brother, William Gartman, of Sheboygan. Her husband preceded her in death in 1912 and a daughter, Mrs. William {Theresa} Henning, died in 1910.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, at the Ramm Funeral home. The Rev. H.H. Wegner will officiate, and burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery. The body will lie in state from this evening until the time of services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emilie Koch, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Hintz, 1023 High avenue, Wednesday, were held at the Ramm Funeral home Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. H.H. Wegner officiating, with burial in the Lutheran cemetery.

William Tetting sang two solos, "Abide With Me", and "Ich bin ein Gast auf Erden", accompanied by Hugo Gessner at the organ. Hintz, Sheboygan Falls, and William Koch, Plymouth.

Mrs. Bertha Kablitz, 86, passed away at her home, 504 E. Main St., Plymouth, at 12:30 a.m., Sunday, following a lingering illness.

She was born Oct. 28, 1865, at Hanover, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Kraus. She came to America when she was 17 years old, and in 1884 was married at Sheboygan to Conrad Kablitz. The couple lived in Sheboygan until 1916 when they moved to Plymouth.

She was a member of St. John�s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth, and the Ladies� Aid Society of the church.

Survivors include two sons, Herman of Sheboygan and Paul of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Olga) Wals and Miss Evelyn Kablitz of Plymouth; 13 grandchildren; and two brothers, Herman and George, in Germany.

Mr. Kablitz passed away on Jan. 16, 1950. One son, one daughter, three sisters, and one brother also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev. H. W. Baxmann will officiate and burial will be made in the Sheboygan Lutheran Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 2 p.m., Tuesday, until the hour of services on Wednesday.

Plymouth � Herman Kracht, age 78, of Town Rhine, died at the Plymouth hospital on Sunday at 3:15 p.m. He was born on December 7, 1864, in Germany and at the age of 6 months was brought to this country by his parents.

They settled in Town Herman from where he moved at the age of 14, and settled in Twon Rhine where he has lived since that time.

On October 1, 1899, he was united in marriage with Paulina Goeke who preceded him in death in 1918.

Mr. Kracht is survived by five children, they are: Otto of Town Rhine, Mrs. Gustave (Ella) Lindow of Green Bay, William of Sheboygan, and Mrs. William (Anna) Binder, Jr., of Plymouth and Mrs. Hugo (Edna) Gessert of Plymouth.

Twenty-two grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Wittkoppp funeral home and at 2:15 p.m. at the Zoar Evangelical and Reformed church in Town Rhine. The Rev. Otto Saewert will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from today until the time of services.

Funeral services for John G. Keller of Milwaukee, aged 77, a former resident of Sheboygan, will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 9:30 o�clock at the Philip J. Weiss Inc. Funeral rooms, 1901 N. Farwell avenue, at E. Kane place and at 10 o�clock at Holy Rosary church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.

Mr. Keller passed away on Monday. He is survived by his wife, Mary Gehling Keller, 1838 N. Oakland avenue, Milwaukee, and the following daughters: Mrs. Laura V. Hall, Mrs. Roy B. Ormond, Madison; Sister M. Theophilia, New York City, Miss Isabel M. Keller, and Mrs. Gertrude E. Long. Also surviving are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cedar Grove � Albert Koeppe, 74, died here Sunday noon at the home oof his daughter, Mrs. Curtis Kreunen, after an illness of a few days.

Rites will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Kreunen home by the Rev. J.R. Euwema, pastor of the First Reformed church, while burial will be in the Miller cemetery of Town Wilson. Friends may view the remains at the Te Ronde Funeral home from this noon until the time of services.

Surviving are a son, Harold, of Port Washington; three daughters, Mrs. George (Violet) Hoth of Sheboygan, Mrs. Oscar (Iris) Haartman of Oostburg, and Mrs. Curtis (Grace) Kreunen of Cedar Grove; seven grandchildren; five brothers, Fred of Sheboygan, Frank of Manitowoc, Ferdinand of the town of Holland, Robert of Cedar Grove, and the Rev. Edwin Koeppe of Amoy, China; three sisters, Mrs. Herman Grasse of Sister Bay, Mrs. George Stirdivant of Sheboygan Falls, and Mrs. Clarence Stirdivant of Downey, Cal.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Klemme, who passed away at the Plymouth hospital, were conducted at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth, and at 2 p.m. at the Saron Evangelical and Reformed church in the town of Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. A. George Schmid, pastor, officiated, and burial was made in the church cemetery.

During the services the church choir, accompanied by Mrs. Arthur Fasse, sang �Jesus Saviour Pilot Me� and �Dear To The Heart Of God�.

Richard Lee, two-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kautzer, 721 Indiana avenue, passed away Saturday afternoon at the St. Nicholas hospital, following a brief illness.

Born in this city July 5, 1950, he is survived by his parents; two sisters, Nancy Ann and Joanne; two brothers, Frank and Edward; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Regutis of this city; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kautzer of Newton.

Infant rites were held this morning at 10 o�clock at Gerend�s Funeral home, with Fr. James J. Shlikas, pastor of Immaculate Conception church, officiating. Burial was made on the family lot in the church cemetery.

Attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kautzer, Carol Kautzer and Vernon Jurgens of Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Orrick Howard of Kenosha.

Chester S. Klemm, 54, of Sheboygan, route 2, died at his farm home this morning after an illness.

A native of the town of Mosel, Mr. Klemm was born April 8, 1896, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Klemm. He attended District School No. 1, the Sheboygan Business college, and agricultural classes at the University of Wisconsin. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church, town of Mosel.

On Nov. 8, 1919, he was married to Esther Hernberger, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hernberger, and the couple made their home thereinafter on the Hernberger homestead, which is located two miles north of Erdman.

Mr. Klemm leaves his wife; a daughter, Miss Delores, at home; a brother, Arvin, of Sheboygan; and a sister, Mrs. Norman Rickmeyer, of Cleveland, route 1.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ballhorn Funeral chapels, the Rev. Karl Schulz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, officiating, and burial will be in Lutheran cemetery.

Herman J. Korte, 88, died suddenly late Wednesday afternoon at his home, 326 1/2 Plymouth street, Plymouth, after a lingering illness.

Born Feb. 12, 1862, in the town of Plymouth, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Korte, he attended the rural schools and lived in the Plymouth area his entire life.

In 1894 he was married to Emma Whippler who preceded him in death in 1906. Two years later, in 1908, he married Clara Hiller. She died Aug. 9, 1947.

Survivors are one son, Earl, Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. John (Ivy) Fotenakes, New York City, Miss Yvonne Korte, at home, and Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Trout, Washington, D.C.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Gustave, Flandreau, S. D.

One son, a daughter, three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wittkopp Funeral home, Plymouth, with the Rev. Samuel Bullough, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery.

The body will lie in state after 2 p.m. Friday.

Carl F. Koehn, 50, of 303 Western avenue, Plymouth, died early Wednesday evening at Plymouth hospital after a prolonged illness.

Born Jan. 15, 1900, in Sheboygan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Koehn, he was married to Miss Clara Mahlendorf in Sheboygan on June 17, 1922.

Until illness forced his retirement in 1937, he had served as a captain in the Sheboygan Fire department. Two years later, in 1939, the couple moved to Plymouth.

From 1942 to 1946, Mr. Koehn served as fire chief for a U. S. army installation in Alaska, then moved to San Luis Obispo, Calif., to make his home. The couple returned to Plymouth last June.

Mr. Koehn was a member of Grace Lutheran church at Visalla, Calif.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Elaine) Buchholz of the town of Lyndon; two grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Koehn, Sheboygan; five brothers, Waldemar, Helmuth, John and Gerhard, Sheboygan, and Herbert, Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. William Lindeke, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Charles Zittel, Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wittkopp Funeral home with the Rev. G. A. Karpinsky, assistant pastor at St. John�s Evangelical Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Mrs. William Kissinger, 93, nee Maria Gerhard, died early today at her home in Elkhart Lake.

A native of the town of Rhine, Mrs. Kissinger was born October 18, 1856, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Gerhard, and was married to Mr. Kissinger May 7, 1881. The couple lived on a farm in the town of Rhine and moved to Elkhart Lake 45 years ago.

Mrs. Kissinger leaves two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Martha) Miller of Elkhart Lake and Mrs. Phillip (Katherine) Voland of Milwaukee; one son, Milton, of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Sell of Glidden; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her husband died in July, 1942, and one son, two sisters and five brothers also preceded Mrs. Kissinger in death.

Mrs. Kissinger was an honorary member of the Senior Ladies� guild of the Community Evangelical and Reformed church at Elkhart Lake.

Funeral services will be held at the residence and at the Community church, the Rev. Paul Olm officiating, and burial will be in the Elkhart Lake cemetery. Time of the funeral will be announced in Saturday�s edition of Sheboygan Press.

Joseph Konopik, 1122-A S. Ninth street, passed away at St. Nicholas hospital Friday noon at the age of 73 years.

Born in Austria Nov. 30, 1876, he came to this country about 40 years ago, settling in Kewaunee, Wis. He was married there to Miss Agnes Miller Oct. 16, 1916. The family came to this city in 1922. He was a cheesemaker by trade and since 1922 was employed in local factories in this city.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Elvera, at home.

Mrs. Kate Krummel, 73, Greenleaf, Wis., died at 2 o�clock this morning at the home of Sebastian Diehl, where she had been a guest for several weeks. Death ws due to diabetes, from which she had suffered for a long time.

Mrs. Krummel is a native of Glenbeulah, but for the past several years ahd made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Gustave Neubauer, Greenleaf. For some time she had been visiting at the home of Sebastian Diehl and Dr. Brueckbauer, in this city. She was the wife of the late Fred Krummel.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Neubauer, the survivors are three sons, Henry, Paul, and William Krummel and another daughter, Mrs. Minnie Krueger, two brothers, Paul and Sebastian Diehl all of this city, and one sister, Mrs. A. Susan Siegworth Klar, 87, of Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, February 5, 1989, at a Manitowoc hospital.

She was born September 12, 1901 in the Town of Holland, Sheboygan County. Her parents were the late James and Gradie Dekker VanEss.

She married Alois Siegworth in July, 1921 in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death in 1944. She then married Lyle Klar in April of 1945. He preceded her in death in February of 1974.

Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, ..., of Green Bay, WI; one daughter and son-in-law, ..., of Kenosha, WI; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Verena A. Kringer, 95, of 3304 Main Avenue, passed away Thursday evening, March 29, 2007 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home where she had been the past two weeks.

Born May 31, 1911 in Sheboygan Falls, Verena was a daughter of the late Ernst and Anna Gartman Widder.

Verena was an inspector at Polar Ware, retiring after 31 years.

Following her retirement, she volunteered at Cooper Elementary School.

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ. She was also an active lifetime member of T.O.P.S. where she enjoyed many special friendships over the years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and watching the birds in her yard.

She is survived by her son, ...; six grandchildren, ...; eleven great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren; her special friends, ..., both of Sheboygan; a niece; other relatives and very special friends, especially her dear friends from T.O.P.S. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Hartman, her son, Eugene Kringer, and her brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Hildegard Widder.

Funeral services for Verena will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Avenue.

The Rev. Greg Whelton, Pastor of St. John U.C.C. will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Gladys M. Kuenne, 80, of 915 Broadway, Apt 4, Sheboygan Falls died peacefully on Sunday morning, September 2, 2007 at Meadow view Manor in Sheboygan where she had resided for the past ten days.

Gladys was born January 13, 1927 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Barney and Meta (Drews) Strochein.

She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1945.

On August 31, 1946, Gladys married Robert L. Kuenne in Sheboygan.

Gladys was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Sheboygan where she was an active church volunteer. She enjoyed needlework, gardening, card playing, traveling and cooking.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Robert; one sister, ... of Sheboygan; and a sister-in-law, ... of Mesa, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, with the Rev. Bryan R. Osladil officiating. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan.

Erdmann Koeppe, Civil war veteran, died at 8 o'clock this morning at his home two miles east of Oostburg. Mr. Koeppe suffered a stroke about four weeks ago and had since been confined to his bed. This condition, combined with his advanced age of 85 years, is given as the cause of death.

Mr. Koeppe was born in Wittenberg, Germany. He came to the United States in 1862 with his sister, Mrs. C. Holling of Sheboygan, who survives. They came directly to Sheboygan county and Mr. Koeppe located at once on the farm where he died. He had been in the United States but a short time when he volunteered for service in the Union army and served throughout the war.

He was married fifty-five years ago to Miss Wilhelmina Gartman, who survives him. Of late years the old people have been making their home with their son, Ferdinand, who operates the old home place.

Fourteen children were born to them, of whom the following survive:

Fred of Sheboygan, Frank of Manitowoc, Herman of Colorado, Robert and Henry of Cedar Grove, Ferdinand on the old farm; Mrs. G. Stirdivant, Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Herman Grasse, Ephraim, Wis.; Rev. Edward Koeppe, a missionary in China; Mrs. Clarence Stirdivant of California.

There also survives 31 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Because of the necessity of awaiting advice from children at a distance arrangements for the funeral cannot be made, be when it is held it will be from the Lutheran church of the town of Wilson, of which Mr. Koeppe was a member, and interment will be at the Miller cemetery.

Cedar Grove � Funeral services for Mrs. Erdman Koeppe, who died at tthe home of a son [Henry] here Thursday morning at 8 o'clock, were held at 1 p.m. at the Lutheran church in the Town of Wilson. The Rev. Schoening officiated and interment was made in Miller's cemetery, Town Wilson.

Mrs. Koeppe passed away after an illness of two and one-half weeks' duration. She was 80 years, 11 months and 3 days of age.

Pallbearers were William Lensink, Fred Krueger, Carl Witte, Henry Miller, William Veldboom and John Dirkse.

The deceased was born in Brandenburg, Germany, March 16, 1865 (sic, 1850). Her name before marriage was Wilhelmina Gartmann. She came to this country in 1865 and was united in marriage to Erdman Koeppe, March 14, 1867. They resided in Town Holland until the death of Mr. Koeppe in 1922. After that she made her home with her children.

She is survived by the following children: Fred Koeppe of Sheboygan, A.G. Koeppe of Cedar Grove, Frank Koeppe of Reedsville, Herman Koeppe of Los Angeles, Calif.; Robert and Henry Koeppe of Cedar Grove, Ferdinand Koeppe of Oostburg, Mrs. George Sturdivant of Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Herman Grasse of Ephraim, Wis.; Rev. Edwin Koeppe of Amoy, China, and Mrs. Clarence Sturdivant of Los Angeles. Two brothers, William and August Gartman of Sheboygan, thirty-six grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive. One son preceded her in death in 1916.

Mrs. Bernice C. (Norman J.) Koeppe, 71, of W1385 Town Line Rd., Oostburg, died at her home, on Wednesday afternoon, June 25, 1997.

Bernice was born Oct. 6, 1925, in Sheboygan, to Erwin A. and Delilah H. (nee Mehlberg) Bartz.

On June 28, 1952, she was united in marriage to Norman J. Koeppe in Sheboygan.

Bernice was employed at Dean Foods for several years, retiring in 1990. She was previously employed at Allen Edmonds Co. for 11 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wilson. She loved sewing, traveling and dogs. She was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Norman; three children, �; two grandsons, �; a sister, Ivy �; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Bernice will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6522 Cty. Tk. OK South, Town of Wilson, on Saturday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Mark Berg, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Ferdinand Koeppe, 87, of 219 Lincoln Ave., died early Sunday morning in Sheboygan Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in the Town of Holland on June 24, 1883, the son of Erdman and Wilhelmina Koeppe.

He attended Jefferson School in the Town of Holland and on Nov. 21, 1912, he married Miss Thona DeVriend.

He farmed all his life in the Town of Holland and retired in 1950.

He was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife: two sons, Wallace and Norman, both of r. 1, Oostburg; three daughters, Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Van Dyke, Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Roger (Luella) Mueller, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Carlton (Caroline) Voigt, Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Clarence Stirdivant, Downey, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers, three sisters, and an infant son.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. A. Elshout, pastor of the Netherlands Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Hartman Cemetery, Oostburg.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund in Mr. Koeppe's name has been established for the church.

Norman J. Koeppe, 81, of W1385 county Hwy KK, Oostburg, passed away Thursday morning, Oct. 9, 2003, at St. Nicholas Hospital.

Born Jan. 6, 1922, in Oostburg, Norman was a son of the late Ferdinand and Tona De Vriend Koeppe. He attended Jefferson Grade School.

On June 28, 1952, he was united in marriage to Bernice C. Bartz in Sheboygan. They were married for 44 years before Bernice preceded him in death on June 25, 1997.

Norman worked for the former R-Way Furniture Co. for over 20 years. He then worked for Lakeshore Display until his retirement. He also worked at home on his farm and ran the Sue Gar Da Shooting Preserve.

He was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church.

Norman is survived by his children, �; a grandson, �; three ee sisters, Louella (Roger) Miller and Caroline (Carl) Voeks, both of Sheboygan, and Elizabeth VanDyke of Michigan; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Norman will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13 at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. The Rev. Frederick jabs, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Wilson, will officiate. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery.

Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Thona Koeppe, 92, formerly of 219 Lincoln Ave., died Thursday at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for five years.

The former Thona DeVriend was born April 12, 1891, in Niewdorp, The Netherlands, daughter of Johannes and Marie Gryspweere DeVriend.

She attended school in The Netherlands and came to the United States as a child.

On Nov. 21, 1912, she married Ferdinand Koeppe. He died in 1970.

Mrs. Koeppe was a member of Netherlands Reformed Church.

Survivors include a son, Norman of Route 1, Oostburg, three daughters, Mrs. Carlton (Caroline) Voigt and Mrs. Roger (Luella) Mueller, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Van Dyke of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Adrian DeVriend of Sheboygan Falls; and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Jensema of Sheboygan.

She was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home. The Rev. A. DenBoer will officiate. Burial will be in Hartman Cemetery, Oostburg.

Mr. Koeppe was born Jan. 19, 1919, in the Town of Holland, a son of Mrs. Thona DeVriend and the late Ferdinand Koeppe.

On Aug. 20, 1947, he married the former Margaret Neerhof at the First Christian Reformed Church parsonage, Oostburg.

The couple farmed in the Town of Holland for 10 years. Mr. Koeppe was later employed as a meat cutter for the Milwaukee Dressed Beef Co.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, �, a son, �; two wo grandchildren; his mother of Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. William Van Dyke, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Roger Mueller and Mrs. Carlton Voigt, both of Sheboygan, and a brother, Norman, Route 1, Oostburg.

Harvey H Klein, 65, of 1602 N. 21st St., died Sunday at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill., after a brief illness.

He was born June 19, 1915, at Sheboygan, son of Henry and Minnie Podlich Klein.

He graduated from Kohler High School in 1933 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1939, with a degree in bacteriology.

Mr. Klein served in the Army Medical Corps, with the 8th Medical Lab Service, in the South Pacific for five years.

On June 22, 1957, he married Dorothy Fenner [Reihman] at Kohler.

He was employed by Kohler Co. for 41 years, retiring July 1 of this year as supervisor of the chemical lab.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Kohler, and its Men's Chorus.

He also was a member of Kohler Quarter Century Club and American Legion Post 149 of Sheboygan Falls.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, ... of Morton, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Berna Kuether of Sheboygan; two brothers, Kenneth of Palm Desert, Calif., and Herbert of Kohler, and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Arthur F. Koeser, 80, of 2514 Wilgus Rd., died unexpectedly Wednesday at St. Nicholas Hospital.

He was born March 9, 1905, at Sparta, Wis., and was married to the former Alma Winterberg on Sept. 16, 1925. She died Aug. 10, 1971.

On Jan. 1, 1979, he married Marie Fenner Beecher in Sheboygan.

Mr. Koeser was employed at the Vollrath Co. as a foreman in the punch press department for 50 years, retiring in 1970.

He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors are his wife; one son, ..., and a daughter, ..., both of Sheboygan; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A brother also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home. Roger Golengeske will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Marie Beecher Koeser, 86, of 2514 Wilgus Road, Sheboygan, died Wednesday, January 11, 1989 at her home.

The former Marie Fenner was born Nov. 13, 1902 in Sheboygan Falls, the daughter of the late William and Minnie D. Never Fenner. She attended Sheboygan Falls Public Schools.

On May 13, 1923 she married Erwin Beecher, of Sheboygan. He preceded her in death July 25, 1977. On January 1, 1979 she married Arthur Koeser, of Sheboygan. He also preceded her in death. She was employed at Nemschoff Chair Company for ten years. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Sheboygan Congregation.

Mrs. Koeser is survived by two daughters, ..., of Fergus Falls, Minnesota and ..., of Charleston, West Virginia; two grandchildren, ..., of Yorkville, Illinois and ..., of Charleston, West Virginia; a brother, William Fenner, of Sheboygan Falls. She was preceded in death by four brothers [George, Reuben, Fred, Arno] and two sisters [Cora].

Memorial services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Jehovah's Witnesses Sheboygan Congregation. Mr. Kyle Forbush will be the officiant. Cremation will follow with the urn interred at Farmin Cemetery. Friends may call at the time of services.

Cedar Grove � Funeral services for Henry Koeppe who passed away at Denver, Colo., were held Thursday at the First Reformed church at Denver in charge of the Rev. Richard Rozeboom, after which the body was brought here and services were held here Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Reformed church with the Rev. John den Ouden officiating. Burial was made in the Presbyterian cemetery.

During the services Miss Iris Hyink and Miss Marilyn Baden, accompanied by Mrs. John Te Kulve, sang `The Lily of the Valley' and `No Night There.'

Pallbearers were Henry Kreunen, William Lensink, Ben Huenink, Sr., Elmer Ruslink, H. John Voskuil and John Bloemers.

Mr. Koeppe, a son of Edmund and Wilhelmina Koeppe, was born March 15, 1879, near Oostburg. During his youth he was engaged in farming and cheesemaking. He was married to Miss Mary Roth of Cedar Grove on July 23, 1908, with the bride's father, the late Dr. J.W.F. Roth, officiating.

Mr. Koeppe was a merchant here for 22 years and later operated a farm near Oostburg for five years. Later they returned to the village and he was engaged in sales work until six years ago.

Among those from away who attended the services were two sons, Kenneth of Denver, Colo. and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Koeppe and children of Cambria; Mrs. E.A. Rowlands, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Jones, Miss Gertrude Morgan, also of Cambria; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Grasse of Sister Bay, John Roth of Milwaukee; the Rev. Edwin W. Koeppe of Holland, Mich.; and Al Drangberg of Jackson Port, Wis.

Floral tributes included those from the Shwayder Luggage Manufacturing company of Denver, Colo., the Young Men's League of the First Reformed church of Denver, School Board and Faculty Members of Cambria High School, the Student Body of the Cambria High School.

William Koeppe, aged 48 years, former well known carpenter contractor at Sheboygan Falls, died on Monday at his home at Shawano of Bright's disease. He left the Falls only six weeks ago.

The funeral was held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anton Schnur at Sheboygan Falls, rev. J. Biehusen, pastor of the St. Paul's Lutheran church, officiating. Burial was to have been made in the Falls cemetery.

Mr. Koeppe was born in the town of Holland and on September 21, 1889 he was married to Miss Lucy Heiden, of the town of Wilson. About ten years ago the family moved to the Falls where Mr. Koeppe followed carpentry and general contracting. His last work there was the erection of the St. Paul's Lutheran church.

The survivors are a widow and nine children: Mrs. Fred Blank, Mrs. Fred Keller, Mrs. Anton Schnur, Alvin, Edwin, William, Lucy, Esther and Amanda. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ertman Koeppe of the town of Holland, seven brothers, Herman, of Denver, Colo.; Frank, Reedsville; Fred, Sheboygan; Robert, Henry and Edwin of Cedar Grove; Ferdinand of Oostburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Grasser, Sister Bay; Mrs. George Stirdivant, town of Wilson; Mrs. Clarence Stirdivant, Sheboygan; also survive.

E. Harold Koeppe, 83, a resident of Pine haven Nursing Home, Sheboygan Falls, and formerly of Port Washington, died at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital Thursday night after a short illness.

He was born May 21, 1900, in Humboldt, Iowa, a son of the late Albert and Minnie Koppe Koeppe.

Mr. Koeppe graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1918.

He resided and worked as a printer in Sheboygan for several years, later moving to Port Washington, where he was a printer at the Port Washington Pilot until retiring in 1965.

Mr. Koeppe was a member of First Reformed Church, Cedar Grove.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Violette Hoth and Mrs. Iris Haartman, both of Sheboygan and Mrs. Grace Kreunen of Sheboygan Falls, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Reformed Church, Cedar Grove, with the Rev. Wayne Tripp, pastor, officiating, preceded by family services at 10:45 a.m. in the church's fellowship hall.

Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Koeppe, 80, widow of Edwin W., a Cedar Grove native, and a resident of Holland Mich., died Monday at Lakeview Extended Care Hospital in Beaver Dam, where she was a patient for the past year.

The former Elizabeth Renskers was born on Nov. 19, 1895 at Cedar Grove, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. John Renskers. She was a graduate (of) Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove and attended Hope College in Holland, Mich. for two years.

She married Mr. Koeppe on June 25, 1919 at Cedar Grove. The couple accepted an appointment to become missionaries to Amoy, China, for the Reformed Church in America. They were stationed there from 1919 to 1951. He died in 1956.

She worked for Hope College from 1956 until her retirement in 1963.

She was a member of the World Christian Temperance Union, the Third Reformed Church and its Ladies Society, all in Holland, Mich.

Survivors are two sons, Roger E. of Stillwater, Okla. and Owen J. of Columbia, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. James (Ruth) De Young of Waupun; 13 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Robert Baden of Sheboygan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Reformed Church, Cedar Grove, the Rev. James Van Roekel, pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, Waupun, officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Louise Koeppe passed away at 1:30 a.m. today at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Kind, S. Sixteenth street, this city.

The remains will lie in state at the F.C. Keller home on Guilford street, Sheboygan Falls, from Tuesday 3 p.m. until Wednesday 12 o'clock noon, and at 1:30 on the same day private services will be conducted for relatives at the Keller home and at 2 p.m. from the St. Paul's Lutheran church at the Falls, the Reverends Mr. Biehusen, pastor of the church, and the Mr. Schmidt, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Sheboygan, officiating. Burial will be at the Falls cemetery.

Mrs. Koeppe, whose maiden name was Lucy Heiden, was born in town of Wilson March 15, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hardwig Heiden.

The survivors are the following nine children, Mrs. Bertha Blank, Mrs. F.C. Keller, Alvin E. Koeppe, Mrs. A.H. Schnur, Sheboygan Falls; Edwin F. Koeppe, Mrs. Otis Kind, Mrs. Henry Gross, Miss Amanda Koeppe, Sheboygan, and William R. Koeppe, Chicago; two brothers, H.C. Heiden of Sheboygan and F.H. Heiden of Detroit, Michigan. The husband preceded her in death about 12 years ago. Fourteen grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Koeppe, who passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Otis Kind of Sheboygan, Monday after a lingering illness of twenty-one years, were conducted from the home of Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Koeppe, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Heiden, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Westerman and Mrs. Harry McCarty of Chicago; Fed Heiden of Detroit, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koeppe of Reddsville, John Dagen, Mrs. Martin Van Rossum and Ernest Bourassa of Oconto, and a number of relatives and friends from Cedar Grove, Oostburg and Sheboygan.

Mrs. Robert Koeppe, 67, of Cedar Grove, died late Thursday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital after being in ill health the past week.

Nee Jennie Meyer, she was born in Town Wilson on Aug. 25, 1886, a son (sic) of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyer, pioneer residents of the area.

She had made her home in Cedar Grove since her marriage to Robert Koeppe in August 1905. Mrs. Koeppe was a member of the First Reformed Church at Cedar Grove.

Survivors are her husband; a son, Oliver, of Milwaukee; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Theune, Oostburg; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Knaak and Ms. Lilah Kampman, Sheboygan, and four brothers, Edwin and Lewis, of Sheboygan, William, of Plymouth, and George of Town Wilson.

A daughter, Ethelyn, died in 1952. One sister and a brother also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Reformed Church, Cedar Grove, with the Rev. Ray Olthof, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the TeRonde Funeral Home, Cedar Grove, from Sunday noon until 10 a.m. Monday, and at the church from 11 a.m. Monday until the hour of services.

Mrs. Augusta Kimme, 80, of 4229 Mueller Road, died Wednesday after being stricken with an apparent heart attack at her home in the Town of Sheboygan. The daughter of the late Robert and Ernestine Athorp was born on April 8, 1890 in the Town of Mosel. She attended district grade school there and was confirmed in 1903 in the former Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Mosel. She was married to Herman Kimme of the Town of Herman on May 3, 1914. The couple farmed in the Town of Sheboygan until his death on November 18, 1956. She lived on the family homestead with her son, Norman. Mrs. Kimme was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Surviving are two sons, Raymond of Town Herman and Norman at home; a daughter Mrs Edwin (Violet) Hamann of town Mosel; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Ella Hinz of Sheboygan; four brothers, William, Arthur and Gerhard, all of town Mosel and George of Yuma, Arizona. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

A 65-year-old rural Sheboygan man Sunday became the first local fatality of Wisconsin's 1956 deer hunting season. Herman C. Kimme, of Route #2, Sheboygan, collapsed and died of a heart attack while hunting east of Conover in Vilas County. His body was found Sunday afternoon by a hunting companion, Jacob Grosskopf, of 2619 South 16th Street. Kimme was alone in the woods when he was stricken. Kimme and two other companions - Walter Meyer and Ernst Marquardt - had left Sheboygan early Thursday and had set up camp near Conover. Kimme was born June 6,1891, in the Town of Herman, a son of the late John and Anna Kimme. He attended Green Bay Road district school and was confirmed in 1905 at St. Mark's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Mosel. On May 3, 1914, he was married to Miss Augusta Athorp in the Town of Mosel. After their marriage, the couple settled on a farm a half mile west of Highway 42 on the Mueller Road. Mr. Kimme was engaged in farming until 1947 when his son, Norman, took over operation of the farm. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and was a past clerk of the Lincoln district school in the Town of Sheboygan. Survivors are his wife; two sons Raymond and Norman; a daughter Mrs. Edwin (Violet) Hamann; six grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Oscar Schmidt. Two brothers and a sister receded him in death. Burial will be in the family lot in Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Meta A. Keller, 81, a former Sheboygan Falls resident, widow of Fred C., died in Sheboygan Memorial Hospital Thursday night after a brief illness.

A resident of Tamarack House in Sheboygan for the past two years, the former Meta Koeppe was born Nov. 5, 1891 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late William and Louise Heiden Koeppe.

She was married to Mr. Keller on June 24, 1911 in Sheboygan. He died Dec. 29, 1969.

Mrs. Keller was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Sheboygan Falls, its Martha Esther Circle and Women's Society and the Homemakers Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Janette) Nesemann of Baraboo; two sons, Raymond and Fred, both of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Otis Kind of Sheboygan and Mrs. William Syring of Menasha and a brother, Edwin Koeppe of Sheboygan.

She was preceded in death by a son, four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Huehns Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. John McBeth, pastor of Faith Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

The former Minnie Hayner, she was born June 11, 1898, at Hancock, Mich., a daughter of the late Peter and Anna Schultz Hayner.

She came to Sheboygan with her parents as a small child, and was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church here.

On Oct. 28, 1916, she and Edwin Koeppe were married in Sheboygan. He husband is a retired carpenter contractor.

Mrs. Koeppe was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, formerly belonged to its Ladies Guild, and during World War II was an active worker for the Red Cross.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Mary (sic, Mark) (Gladys) Wegner of Madison; six grandchildren and two brothers, John Hayner of Sheboygan and Edwin Hayner of Kiel. She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters and a brother.

A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Koeppe's name for Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

August Klewe, 75 years old and well known in Sheboygan county, passed away at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Sheboygan Memorial hospital where he underwent an operation in the hope that it would relieve an ailment from which he had suffered for only a short time.

He was born January 4, 1859, in Brandenburg, Germany. He left his native country and came to Sheboygan in 1889. For many years he was associated with his brother, Charles, in the wholesale liquor business until the advent of national prohibition when he retired from active business life and devoted himself to his home and family.

On June 5, 1892, he was married to Miss Bertha Fritsch of the town Wilson, who survives together with four daughters, Mrs. Otto Friedrichsen, Mrs. H.G. Hillemann and Mrs. Louis Gartman, all of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Thoralf Docha of Appleton. Four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the home, 514 New York avenue, the Rev. C.P. Schultz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood cemetery.

Mrs. Bertha Klewe, aged 65, who resided for many years at 514 New York avenue, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at St. Nicholas hospital after a short illness.

Deceased was born October 28, 1873, in Wilson township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fritsch. She received her early education at the rural school, and on June 5, 1892, was united in marriage to August Klewe at her home in Wilson township. The couple came to Sheboygan after their marriage and lived here until their demise. Her husband preceded her in death in January, 1934.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Otto Fredricksen, Mrs. Henry Hillemann and Mrs. Louis Gartman of this city and Mrs. T.C. Docka of Appleton; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. D. Nath, Sheboygan county, and a brother, Alfred Fritsch of Wilson township.

Mrs. Klewe was a faithful member of the Trinity Lutheran church. She possessed an unusually pleasant disposition, and was devoted to her children and deeply interested in her home.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the residence, 514 New York avenue, with interment in the family plot at Wildwood cemetery. The Rev. C.P. Schulz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, will officiate.

Final rites for Mrs. Bertha Klewe, who passed away at St. Nicholas hospital last Thursday afternoon, were conducted at the residence, 514 New York avenue, at 3 p.m., Saturday, by the Rev. C.P. Schulz, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church.

Mrs. Ralph Kohlman, 67, of Cascade, died at St. Nicholas Hospital at 8:45 p.m. Monday following a lingering illness.

The former Marion Smith, she was born Sept. 20, 1895, in Town Russell, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith.

Mr. Kohlman is cashier and a director of the Cascade State Bank.

Mrs. Kohlman graduated from Kiel High School and the Oshkosh State Normal School, after which she taught in the towns of Russell and Rhine for eight years.

She was married to Ralph Kohlman, Nov. 6, 1923, at St. Ann�s Catholic Church at St. Anna, and they made their home in Cascade since their marriage.

She was a member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church at Cascade, St. Mary�s Altar Society and the Plymouth chapter of Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Earl of Albuquerque, N.M., and Neil of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary) Morgan of Fort Atkinson and Mrs. Vernon (Ceil) Tracy of Sheboygan Falls; 13 grandchildren and two brothers, George Smith of Elkhart Lake and Norman Smith of Sheboygan.

Isabel F. Kohlman, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan, where she had been a resident for the past 25 years.

She was born on March 20, 1907, in Glenbeulah, a daughter of William and Mary Michaels Scott, On Nov. 29, 1934, she married Emil J. Kohlman at St. Fridolin Catholic Church in Glenbeulah.

She attended Glenbeulah High School and the Normal School in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. She taught at Spring Valley School in Greenbush and Maple Dale, School in Sheboygan.

Mrs. Kohlman and her husband farmed at Route 3, now Branch Road, in Plymouth, for many years. She was an honorary member of St. Fridolin Church in Glenbeulah and its Christian Mothers Society.

Survivors include one son, Gene Kohlman of the Town of Plymouth; one daughter, Kay (Wayne) Keyes of Plymouth; six grandchildren, Tim (Mary) Keyes of Littleton, Colo., Bonnie Keyes (Jim Cavanaugh) of Milwaukee, Todd (Penny) Kohlman, Scott Kohlman, Brake (Traci) Kohlman, and Chad Kohlman (friend Penny McKerrow), all of Plymouth; six great-grandchildren, Tyler; Abigail, Melissa, Kirsten and Trent Kohlman, all of Plymouth, and Nicholas Keyes of Milwaukee; one sister, Louise (George) Fontany of Howards Grove; and one sister-in-law, Gladys Liethan of New Berlin.

Preceding her in death were her husband on Nov, 6, 1957; one, daughter-in-law, JoAnn Kohlman; five brothers, BiIl, Sam, Bob, Lawrence and Gene; and two sisters, Margaret Schwind and Marie Seekins.

Emil J. Kohlman, 55, Town of Plymouth, Sheboygan county, a native of St. Cloud, died Wednesday at Plymouth hospital following a year�s illness.

He was born Oct. 12, 1902, the son of Frank and Mary Dreifuerst Kohlman and was married Nov. 26, 1934, to Isabel Scott in St. Fridolin�s church, Glenbeulah. They went to the Town of Plymouth in 1934. Mr. Kohlman served as a school district clerk and assessor in that township. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Fridolin�s church.

Surviving are the widow; one son and one daughter, Eugene and Kathleen, both at home; five brothers, Richard, Byron, Claude, Van Dyne, Herman, St. Cloud, Ralph, Cascade, and Valentine, Johnsburg, and three sisters, Mrs. John Karls, Johnsburg, Mrs. Clara Berenz, St. Cloud, and Mrs. Olive Borndahl, city. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Ralph D. Kohlman, 70, a longtime member of the Cascade School Board and trustee of the Village of Cascade, died Sunday night at Cascade following a heart attack.

Born Oct. 13, 1896, in St. Cloud, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kohlman. An Army veteran of World War I, he attended St. Claudius Catholic School in St. Cloud and St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary.

He married Marion Smith Nov. 6, 1923, at St. Anna. Following their marriage the couple lived in Cascade where Mr. Kohlman served as cashier of the Cascade State Bank for the last 44 years. His wife preceded him in death in 1963.

He was a member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Cascade and acted as treasurer of the church for many years. Mr. Kohlman was a member of the Holy Name Society of the church and a member of the Sheboygan County Mutual Agents Association.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Vernon Tracy of Sheboygan Falls and Mrs. Mary Morgan of Fort Atkinson; two sons, Earl of Albuquerque, N.M., and Neil of Menomonee Falls; 15 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. John Carl (sic: Karls) of Johnsburg and Mrs. Clara Berenz of St. Cloud; two brothers, Herman Kohlman of St. Cloud and Valentine Kohlman of Pipe.

Three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Mrs. Mathilda Kohlmann, 91, of 611 N. Water St., Sheboygan, died Thursday, April 14, 1983, at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan.

She was born Aug. 15, 1891, at Johnsburg, to the late Henry and Anna Schmitz Sabel. On May 19, 1919, she was married to William Kohlmann at Malone.

Mrs. Kohlmann was a member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church at Sheboygan Falls, Christian Mothers Society and Society of the Little Flower.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Bernice) Brown of Lodi, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Pitschler of Sheboygan and Mrs. Henry (Rosemarie) French of Menomonee Falls; a son, Raymond of Sheboygan; 18 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Alois Abler and Mrs. Albert Diederich both of St. Peter; and three brothers, Roman and Gregor Sabel both of Fond du Lac and Hugo Sabel of St. Peter. Her husband preceded her in death.

William Kohlmann, 67, of 337 Jackson St., Sheboygan Falls, died today at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, following a short illness.

Born near Mount Calvary on Nov. 27, 1898, he was the son of Martin and Paulina Kohlmann. He married Mathilda Sabel May 19, 1919, and they resided in Sheboygan Falls for 25 years while he was employed as a mason for the Kohler Co., Kohler. He was a member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church, Sheboygan Falls and the Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Brown, Madison, Mrs. Donald Pitschler, Frankfurt, Germany and Mrs. Henry French, Menomonee Falls; and 16 grandchildren.

Mrs. Otto C. Kohlmann, 58, of 28 Hein Ave., Plymouth, died at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, early today following an illness of one week.

The former Ursula Stephany, she was born Feb. 3, 1911, in Johnsburg, Fond du Lac County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stephany, and was married Oct. 15, 1935, at Mt. Calvary.

The Kohlmanns lived in Fond du Lac, then at Mt. Calvary and since 1942 in Plymouth.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband; a son, three daughters (names omitted for privacy); 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond, Mt. Calvary, and Leo, R. 1, Fond du Lac, and one sister, Mrs. Frank Christ, Fond du Lac.

Mr. Kohlmann died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1987, at his home following an apparent heart attack.

He was born July 30, 1907, in St. Cloud, to Ferdinand and Rosina Kempf Kohlmann. He married Ursula Stephany on Oct. 15, 1935.

He attended Catholic schools in St. Cloud and he and his wife resided in St. Cloud and Plymouth all their married life. He was employed with Lake Shire Marty and S & R Cheese Corp., both in Plymouth. He was also employed by the City of Plymouth until 1984.

Mr. Kohlmann was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Plymouth, and the Golden Agers Society of Plymouth.

Survivors include three daughters, one son (names omitted for privacy); 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Flora Steffes of Fond du Lac. Preceding him in death were his wife on June 3, 1970, one granddaughter and two sisters.

Anna Kohlman, 94, a resident of Meadow View Nursing Home in Sheboygan for many years and a former resident of Sheboygan Falls, died at Meadow View on Saturday, July 27, 1996, after a lengthy illness.

Anna was born in the town of Lima on Oct. 26, 1901, the daughter of the late Frank and Lavina Kwekkeboom Sargent. On June 26, 1923, she married Arnold C. Kohlman in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1982.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls, a charter member and past president of its WSCS and Martha Circle, and served as the financial secretary of the church.

Survivors include her daughter Dorothy (Raymond) Loomis of Sheboygan Falls, and one grandson, Philip S. Loomis of New York, N.Y.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will beheld at the Huehns Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Monday, July 29, 1996, at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Frederic Schulz, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Huehns Funeral Home on Monday from 5:30 until the time of services.

A memorial fund will be established in her name for Faith United Methodist Church.

Arnold C. Kohlman, 81, of 426 Prospect Ave., Sheboygan Falls, died Wednesday night at St. Nicholas Hospital after apparently suffering a heart attack.

He was born Oct. 6, 1901, in St. Cloud, a son of the late Anton and Clara Enders Kohlman.

On June 26, 1923, he married Anna Sargent in Sheboygan Falls.

He was employed at Kohler Co. from 1924 until retiring in 1967.

Mr. Kohlman was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Sheboygan Falls, and the Kohler Quarter Century Club.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Loomis, of Sheboygan Falls; a grandson; a brother, Leonard, of Fort Atkinson; and four sisters, Mrs. Della Pierce and Mrs. Harold Gutreuter, both of Fort Atkinson, Mrs. Elmer Foley, of Plymouth, and Mrs. Clemens Abler, of St. Cloud. He was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Huehns Funeral Home, Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. Perry Bell, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday and until the time of services Saturday.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Kohlman�s name.

Jacob Krug, a cheesemaker residing in the town of Forest, was killed and August Blanck, a farmer living at Mt. Calvary, was seriously injured early this morning when the horse they were driving jumped from the bridge across the Sheboygan river about two miles east of Mt. Calvary, and threw the men to the ice seven feet below.

It is supposed to have occurred about 3 or 3:30 o�clock this morning. The bodies were not found, however, until 8 o�clock and then they were discovered by Phillip Driver.

Mr. Driver had arrived near the bridge when he noticed a horse standing on the ice. He surmised that an accident had occurred and upon glancing toward the river saw the bodies of the two men. Mr. Driver immediately telephoned to Tony Enders and other people living at Mt. Calvary and when these gentlemen arrived a descent was made to the river.

Mr. Krug�s body was found lying in a peculiar doubled up position and was rigid when found. Mr. Blanck was partially unconscious and his body was covered with bruises. The back of his head was bleeding and it is feared that his brain has been injured.

It is regarded as an unusual occurrence that the horse escaped uninjured and that the cutter in which the two men had been riding was no badly damaged. The horse evidently knew something was wrong as he remained standing beside the bodies of the two men until the arrival of the rescuing party.

Mr. Krug�s body was removed to the home of his brother in Forest and Mrs. Blanck was taken to Carter hotel where Dr. J.W. Pass� was called to attend him. It is feared that he will not recover as he was nearly frozen on account of remaining in the open for nearly five hours.

Efforts to ascertain how the accident really occurred were fruitless. Mr. Blanck was not permitted to talk at length, but from his statements it appears that while they were driving across the bridge the horse became frightened and reared high in the air, falling over the four foot railing and dragging the cutter and its occupants to the river below.

Last night Mr. Krug and Mrs. Blanck attended a telephone meeting at Calvary station. They left for home about 1 o�clock and according to farmers probably arrived at the scene of the accident about 3:30 or 3 o�clock in the morning.

Mr. Krug is about 40 years of age and has a wife and family. Mr. Blanck is 35 years old and also has a family.

District Attorney F.W. Chadbourne said that he had not learned all details concerning the accident, but that he had authorized the justice at Mt. Calvary to hold an inquest.

August Blanck, who was seriously injured last Tuesday in an accident near Mt. Calvary when a horse belonging to Jacob Krug jumped off the bridge across the Sheboygan river near Mt. Calvary, died at 1:45 o�clock this morning at the home of his father-in-law, August Coleman (sic: Kohlmann) at Mt. Calvary.

Since the accident a week ago Mr. Blanck has not been expected to live and Tuesday evening the members of his family were summoned to his bedside and were attending him when the end came. It is supposed that his death was due to an injury to his brain. When found last week Mr. Blanck�s body was a mass of bruises.

The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Blanck of Johnsburg (sic: Johnsonville, Sheboygan Co.), a wife and five children, the oldest being eight years and the youngest two months; one brother, William, and two sisters, of Sheboygan. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 o�clock from the family residence in Mt. Calvary. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery.

Jacob Krug, a well known farmer residing in the town of Forest, his farm being 15 miles from this city, was instantly killed at 4 o�clock this morning on the road between Mt. Calvary and St. Cloud by being thrown off a bridge spanning the Sheboygan river, two miles from Mt. Calvary.

The cutter, in which Krug and August Plank (sic: Blanck) were riding, ran off the bridge, when the horse became frightened at some object on the side of the road. Krug suffered a complete fracture of the neck, while Plank was so badly injured that it is feared he cannot recover. The latter is in an unconscious condition and from marks on the side of his head it is suspected that his skull was fractured.

It was quite dark at the time of the accident. The men were on their way to St. Cloud. When they reached the bridge over the Sheboygan river, the horse took fright as it was about to step onto the bridge. It plunged to the side and the cutter overturning dropped off from the bridge.

Krug and Plank were wrapped up in robes and were unable to extricate themselves, and fell head first to the ice below. The river was frozen over and both men fell to what seemed instant death. When they were picked up it was apparent that Krug had been dead for some time. The neck was broken. Physicians were summoned from Fond du Lac.

The dead man is a well known resident of the town of Forest and has a number of relatives living in Fond du Lac. He leaves a wife and eight children, also two brothers Henry and George Krug of Forest.

Blanck � August Blanck, who was injured in the Forest bridge accident along with Jacob Krug whose death was instantaneous, died at 1:45 o�clock Wednesday morning at the home of his father-in-law, August Coleman (sic: Kohlmann) at Mt. Calvary. His death has been daily expected. The injury producing death was a concussion of the brain. Besides his parents, the deceased is survived by a wife and five children, the youngest being a baby two months old and the oldest is 8 years of age. He also leaves two sisters and one brother. The funeral will be held at 10 o�clock Saturday morning from the residence. Interment will be at the cemetery in Mt. Calvary.

n.b. August Blanck was the son of Christian and Friederika Goecke Blanck of Sheboygan Falls Twp. He was born there on Jan. 9, 1875 and was baptised on Jan. 25, 1876 at Saron UCC in Sheboygan Falls Twp.

Kiel - Mrs. Anna Klein, 76, widow of the late Henry Klein, and former resident of this community, passed away Sunday evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Faust, town of Meeme, Manitowoc county, after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born Anna Dietrich, on Jan. 18, 1868, and on March 6, 1887, was united in marriage with Henry Klein, town of Rhine. Following their marriage the couple moved to a farm in the town of Meeme, and then moved to Kiel where they lived for 44 years. Five years ago, Mrs. Klein moved to the town of Meeme where she made her home with her daughter.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mamie Faust; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild and one brother, William Dietrich, town of Meeme. Her husband preceded her in death 29 years ago, and one son, John passed away in 1937.

Mrs. Klein was a member of the Christian Mothers' society of Ss. Peter and Paul church, Kiel. Members of the society will recite the rosary at the church at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home and at 9:30 a.m. at the church. The Rev. F.X. Kheil will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until the time of services.

A week ago Thursday, Henry Klein died of thyroid consumption. He reached the age of 53 years, 4 months and 8 days. Mr. Klein, who was a life long resident of the area, was well known. He was born on April 5, 1862 in the town of Rhine and was raised there. In 1887, Anna Dietrich and Mr. Klein were married. She was born in the town of Meeme. They settle on a farm in that Town.

He came to Kiel where he managed a furniture store, but moved onto a farm in New Holstein. After two years, he returned to Kiel where he took a job with the Standard Oil Co., which he kept until April of this year, when his health forced him to resign his position.

Surviving are his wife; two children, John W. and Mamie; two sisters and a brother.

The funeral took place Monday morning at Saints Peter & Paul Church with Rev. Kolbe officiating.

The Kiel�s Choir sang hymns. The fire department and the E.F.U. acted as pallbearers. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery.

George Keenan, 72, former local resident, and at one time Sheboygan county board supervisor of Elkhart Lake, where he also resided several years, passed away at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. J. Herriges at Random Lake, Sunday morning at 7:10 o'clock. The deceased was born in the town of Russell June 1, 1868. His wife, the former Cecelia DeLaHunt of Little Falls, Minnesota, died 11 years ago.

For several years he conducted a dairy business and milk route in Elkhart Lake, and for the past several years has lived with his daughter. Survivors are two sons and two daughters, namely: Mrs. Ed. J. Herriges of Random Lake, Mrs. Harold Brennan of Valders, George of Milwaukee, and Thomas of Waukesha, and a brother, Thomas of Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock from the D.G. Wilk Funeral Home at Random Lake, and at 10 o'clock services were conducted at the St. George Catholic church at Elkhart Lake, with burial being made in the St. Anna cemetery.

Mr. Keenan was a charter member and past president of St. Anna's branch, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and was a member of the Holy Name Society of the St. George church at Elkhart Lake, and St. Mary's church at Random Lake. While at Elkhart Lake he was consultor at St. George's church, and until his retirement in 1917, Mr. Keenan had been on the Sheboygan County Board for six successive years. He was a member of the mediation and tax claims committees.

William F. Keppel, 90, died peacefully at St. Nicholas Hospital on Saturday, March 5, 2005.

Born in Sheboygan on Feb. 4, 1915, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose (Varga) Keppel. He attended St. Peter Claver grade school and graduated from Sheboygan High School in 1933. While in high school, he won the state cross-country championship as both a junior and a senior.

On Aug. 24, 1940, he married Anne Cinealis at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sheboygan.

For 41 years he worked at the Kohler Co., becoming a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was an avid reader, history buff and gardener, played baseball and golf in the Kohler Leagues and upon retirement continued bowling in a senior citizen league. He was a member of the Jolly Clavers in his parish and worked as a volunteer for the St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Sheboygan Food Pantry.

Perhaps his favorite pastime was rebuilding a 1926 Model T that he put together from parts collected from throughout Sheboygan County. He assembled the engine, reupholstered the interior and painted the car himself. His wife Anne describes the launch of the car as "quite a day with the whole neighborhood coming out to admire Pop and his old struggle buggy" which she nicknamed, "Jezebel." During the summer months, he would often give tours of the south side to his grandchildren in his restored car.

In a letter to a future daughter-in-law, his wife Anne described William as "quiet, hard working with a good sense of humor, a good husband and a good father." She said, "the Keppel Klan keeps him hopping overtime fixing bikes, roller skates, giving haircuts, gardening and being a jack of all trades and a general fix-it man not to mention his taxi service for the family." His family was the center of his life.

William was proud of the accomplishments of his seven children, 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who survive him. They include William J. (Polly) Keppel of Minneapolis, Minn., Jean (Michael) Baldikoski of Elmhurst, Ill., James Keppel (Kathy Kind) of Grafton, Robert (Mary Beth) Keppel of Chesterfield, Mo., Mary Beth Keppel (Michael Kepler) of Madison, Ruth Keppel-Aleks (William Aleks) of Rockford, Ill. and Susan (William) Bernhardt of River Falls. He is further survived by his brothers, Frank Keppel of Sheboygan and John (Toby) Keppel of Florida. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Hermine (Minnie) and William Manske, and his sister-in-law, Lucille Dunn Keppel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for William on Tuesday, March 8, at noon at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.

Visitation for the family and friends will be at the church, 1444 S. 11th St., from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at noon. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery following the Mass.

Donations to the St. Vincent De Paul Society in William's name would be appreciated.

Mrs. Estelle Koehn, 92, of 503 Niagara Ave., died this morning at the Sheboygan Retirement Home.

The former Estelle Thole was born in St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 19, 1889, a daughter of the late William and Agnes Connors Thole.

On July 7, 1914, she married John J. Koehn in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1926.

She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, its Holy Family Altar Society, a charter member of the Better Films Council, the Women�s Relief Corps, A.A.R.P., the Golden Agers, and was a charter member and past president of the Eagles Auxiliary No. 277.

Survivors are a daughter, (name omitted for privacy), of Sheboygan; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Clement Catholic Church. The Rev. Anthony McCarthy will be celebrant of the mass, which will be preceded by family rites at 9:30 a.m. at Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday. A parish vigil will be held there at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a memorial service by the Eagles Auxiliary at 7:30 p.m.

James J. Koehn, 79, formerly of Appleton and currently residing in Sheboygan, died at his home on Wednesday evening, Sept. 25, 2002.

He was born on Feb. 20, 1923, to Anton and Clara Koehn and grew up in Little Chute. He was the beloved husband of Vivian for 52 wonderful years.

After serving his country faithfully in World War II, he attended the University of Wisconsin � Stevens Point. In college he was a four-year letter winner as an offensive and defensive halfback. He was selected on the all-conference team for four consecutive years, and was name captain of the team and recipient of the Player of the Year Award in 1949.

On July 29, 1950, Jim and Vivian Van Dyke were united in marriage. Upon graduation, he coached football and track for one year in Wausaukee, Wis. and in 1951 began 34 years of dedicated service to the Kimberly Area School District. In 1962, he became the first principal of J.R. Gerritts Junior High School, where he remained until his retirement in 1985.

He was recipient of a Community Award in Recognition of Excellence the School Administrator of the Year awarded by the Wisconsin Library Association and was name to the UW-Stevens Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 1981.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, son, five grandchildren, three brothers, and a sister (names omitted for privacy). He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Frank and Tony, his sister, Merla and his son Kimet James Koehn.

Jim had a great sense of humor and lived his life with dignity and grace. He was always a source of love and support to his family. He loved to travel and made trips to Europe, England, Alaska, Hawaii and all over the United States with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. he delighted especially in his grandchildren and developed close, special relationships with each one of them.

He will also be remembered as a kind, gracious and caring friend to the many teachers, staff, students and parents whose lives he touched as an educator. He has helped, taught and served thousands of people and will be deeply missed by all he knew.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of and to share memories of Jim Koehn will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues. Oct. 1 at First United Church of Christ, 310 Bluff Ave., Sheboygan. The Rev. James H. Hollister, senior pastor, will officiate. (Due to construction the best route to the church is Highway 42 (Calumet Drive) to Geele Ave., east on Geele to Fourth Street, south on Fourth Street into the church parking lot).

After being ill since 1924, and blind since 1928 and confined to her bed for the past five years. Mrs. Louisa Kuhn, aged 89, passed away at 12:30 p.m. last Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Umsonst in the town of Meeme.

Mrs. Kuhn was born in the town of Herman November 18, 1853, the daughter of Nicholas and Marie Boos. She was united in holy wedlock with John Kuhn of the town of Rhine November 3, 1871, and from that time on she has resided on the present homestead. Her husband passed away in January, 1892.

Survivors are five children namely; Mrs. Louisa Ibeling and Mrs. William Umsonst of the town of Meeme, Mrs. Cornelius Brass of the town of Herman, Louis of the town of Herman, and John J. of Ada; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. A son, William, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 1:15 o�clock at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, and at 2 o�clock services were conducted at the St. John Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Henry Krumrey, president of the Wisconsin Cheese Federation and a La Follette leader in the state, was found dead by hanging in his cottage in Crystal Lake Friday night. He was 71 years old. According to friends of the dead man he has been in ill health for several months and recent slumps in the cheese market are said to have worried him considerably. Krumrey was formerly state senator.

He was a La Follette delegate to the last republican convention in Chicago. He had also been mentioned as a possible candidate for governor.

Krumrey's reputation as a cheese expert was nation-wide. He was instrumental in merging the Wisconsin Producers' Co-operative Association with the Minnesota Federation giving the consolidated organization complete dominance in the world cheese market.

Memorial services for Karl Kettner, 60, of 2215 S. 15th St., who died Wednesday at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Fountain Park United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Owen Miller, pastor, will officiate. The cremains will be interred at a later date in Wildwood Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church at the time of services.

Among the survivors is a niece, Miss Frances Lauber, in Aachen, Germany.

Lester G. Klein, 46, of 824 15th St. South, Wisconsin Rapids, a former chef at the American Club in Kohler, died Sunday evening at a Marshfield hospital.

A native of Sheboygan, he was born Sept. 3,1918, a son of the late Henry and Minnie Klein, attended schools at Sheboygan and Kohler, and following military service in World War II was a chef at the American Club for several years.

Later he served as a chef at a Waupaca hotel and, for the last 18 months, as a chef at the Wilburn Supper Club at Wisconsin Rapids.

Mr. Klein was married at Milwaukee on Sept. 21, 1946, to Miss Marion Proehl. The couple had resided at Waupaca for the last eight years.

Survivors are the widow; a daughter, Susan, and a son, Robert, both at home; three brothers, Kenneth of Los Angeles, Calif., and Harvey and Herbert of Kohler, and a sister, Mrs. Gilbert Kuether, Sheboygan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, following which the body will be brought to Sheboygan. Friends may call at the Ramm Funeral Home between 6 and 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Graveside rites will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Kohler Cemetery with the Rev. John I. Hagen, pastor of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, officiating.

Henry W. Kletzien, 73, died early Sunday morning at his home, 724 Pennsylvania Ave., after a short illness.

A resident of Sheboygan his entire life, he was born Nov. 3, 1884, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Kletzien, and was married to Miss Hulda Kruschke on June 1, 1917.

Mr. Kletzien started work with Associated Seed Inc. in 1906, and had worked for the company for 44 years prior to his retirement in 1950.

He was a member of Zion Reformed Church.

Survivors are one son, Raymond, Sheboygan; a grandson; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Amanda) Paske, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Emil (Elsie) Timm, Manitowoc, and a brother, Hugo, Sheboygan.

His wife and two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Robert H. Kroos Funeral Home with the Rev. John Mohr, acting pastor of Zion Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Lutheran Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Henry J. Kohli, 74, of 1336 N. 38th St., died Sat. Dec. 12, 1992, at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan. He was born Dec. 21, 1917, at Mt. Calvary, a son of Samuel and Rose Michels Kohli. On Sept. 6, 1941, he married Catherine Wagner of Fond du Lac. Mr. Kohli was employed in the pottery and yard department at Kohler Co. for 40 years until retiring in January of 1980. He was a member of Holy Name Parish in Sheboygan, the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department and the Kohler Co. Quarter Century Club. He was a captain with the town fire department and was responsible for training younger firefighters. Mr. Kohli was involved in fire prevention educational programs at area schools. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Anne Sorenson and her husband Richard, Jeanne Sohre and her husband John, both of Sheboygan, and Mary Jo Schroeder and her husband Larry of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosetta Holzmann and her husband Tony of Mt. Calvary, and Martha Den Bleyker of Phoenix, N.Y.; and one brother, Adolph Kohli of Mt. Calvary. Preceding him in death were a granddaughter, Kelly Sorenson; and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Parish, Sheboygan. The Rev. Daniel Sanders will officiate. Entombment will be at Garden of Peace Mausoleum, Town of Sheboygan. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the mass. Catherine I. Kohli, 74, of Sheboygan, died Sat. July 24, 1993, at her residence. She was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Jacky Wagner. On Sept. 6, 1941, she married Henry J. Kohli of Mt. Calvary. The couple moved to Sheboygan in 1945. Mrs. Kohli was a member of Holy Name Parish. She was also an American Red Cross blood drive worker, a member of the Mapledale Homemakers Club and a volunteer librarian at James Madison School. Survivors include three daughters, Anne Sorenson and her husband Richard, and Jeanne Sohre and her husband John, all of Sheboygan, and Mary Jo Schroeder and her husband Larry of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 12, 1992; a granddaughter, Kelly Sorenson; and one brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Sheboygan. The Rev. Daniel Sanders will officiate. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum, Sheboygan. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the mass. A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Kohli�s name for the Community Home Hospice Service. Ballhorn Chapels, Sheboygan, is handling arrangements.

Andrew L. Kohli, 60, of 107 W. Eastman St., Plymouth, died Tues. Aug. 14, 1984, due to an apparent heart attack. He was born Dec. 28, 1923, at Mt. Calvary, a son of Sam and Rose Michels Kohli. He attended parochial school at Mt. Calvary and Goodrich High School. He served with the army from 1941-45 in World War II, and was awarded the Purple Heart for action in the European Theater. On Aug. 12, 1950, he married Margaret Giebler Peters at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, where he was presently a member. Mr. Kohli was employed by the Kohler Co., Culligan Software Service for 20 years and was custodian at Plymouth High School before retiring in 1984. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Karen) White of Fond du Lac; a grandson; three brothers, John of Dotyville, Adolph of Mt. Calvary and Henry of Sheboygan; and two sisters, Martha Denbleker of Phoenix NY, and Mrs. Anthony (Rosetta) Holzmann of Mt. Calvary. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev. Wayne Bittner will officiate, and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth. Visitation for Mr. Kohli will be after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Mrs. Margaret A. Kohli, 70, a resident of Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, and formerly of 107 W. Eastman St., Plymouth, died Fri. Nov. 18, 1988, at the nursing home. She was born June 9, 1913, in Plymouth, a daughter of Max and Marie Kerke Giebler. On Aug. 12, 1950, she married Andrew Kohli in Mt. Calvary. Mrs. Kohli attended St. John�s Lutheran Grade School and was a resident of Plymouth all her married life. She was a member of St. John�s Lutheran Church and a volunteer at Valley Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth. Survivors include a daughter, Karen White and her husband Gary of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren; one sister Lucille Torke and her husband Elmer of Crystal Lake; and one brother, Willard Giebler of Plymouth. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1984. Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Wittkopp Funeral Home, Plymouth. The Rev. Thomas Burton will officiate. Burial will follow in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery, Plymouth. Friends may call Sunday from 4 p.m. to the hour of services at the funeral home. A memorial is being established in her name.

John Kroeten, old and prominent resident of Sheboygan, died suddenly of heart failure while waiting for a car at the corner of Indiana avenue and S. 8th st., at 9:15 o'clock Sunday night, surrounded by his family. He was in a jolly mood and was talking with his wife, when suddenly he uttered a groan and fell to the sidewalk. Dr. Elfers was called and pronounced death due to heart failure. Coroner Feagan was called, and stated that investigation was unnecessary. Mr. Kroeten and family had spent the day at the home of Mrs. Kroeten's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hiebing, 1530 Kentucky avenue, and at about nine o'clock walked to 8th street to take a car. Mr. Kroeten was feeling well all day. The decedent was born in Naeff, Germany, on November 18, 1852. On May 18, 1872, he came to Sheboygan. For a few months after his arrival he was employed in the Crocker Chair factory, and afterwards assumed a position with the Phoenix Chair Company, from which he steadily rose, until at the time of his death he was superintendent of the factory. He was employed in the Phoenix factory for 34 years. A few years after coming to this country Mr. Kroeten was united in marriage to Miss Johanna Hiebing, who besides a number of children he leaves to mourn his loss. The children are Mrs. Charles Kreuter, of Minneapolis MN, Nicholas, Alois, John and Alfons of this city. He leaves also a sister, Miss Gertrude Kroeten, who resides at 7 22 St. Clair avenue. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning from Holy Name church. Rev. Fr. Thill officiating. Burial will be in the North Side Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Kreuter of Minneapolis will arrive in the city this evening to attend the funeral.
