William Shakespeare

Note that this is the traditionally accepted genealogy of the Poet. However, in the light of recent discoveries this appears to be incorrect in that it can be shown that his father, John Shakespeare, was not the son of Richard Shakespeare 'of Snitterfield.' Also, there is mounting evidence that William had an older brother, John Shakespeare, the Stratford Shoemaker.
