A surviving family bible gives Edward's date of birth as 9th July 1804. In all the census entries relating to him his birthplace is given as Birmingham. This is the entry from the 1851 census:

Edward married Hannah Hallick, 28th September 1828, at St Bartholomews, Birmingham. Edward died 4th March 1865 and Hannah 24th March 1866. Edward is buried in Witton Cemetery. He left a will.
