The Shakespeare Knife

The Shakespeare knife was the design of a noted Indian sportsman and Indian Army Major, Henry Shakespeare. Well known for his book, ‘Wild Sport of India’, Henry required a specific design suitable for his intrepid excursions.

The design of the Shakespeare knife was used by Wilkinson Sword commercially in the late 1880’s, early 1890’s as it was unique and had been well received by the Major who advocated its use in his book. It's features include:

  • The high carbon steel blade for the limited edition Shakespeare knife is hand forged. It is double edged bi-convex in section and traditionally 6” in length, although like the blade length could be individually chosen upon request.

The grip has an unusual shape and is made from beech wood with a hand cut cheque pattern.

The knife was recently manufactured as a limited edition of 100 by Wilkinson Sword, UK.
