My FOREMAN families were early arrivals from England to Oyster Bay on Long Island by 1645, perhaps descended from a former Mayor of London, England, founded Flushing, New York, contributed greatly during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars with various military officers, sheriffs and others over the years. Several generations lived on Long Island before moving into New Jersey, then Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio and other states.
