4th great-grandparents were Peter HOUSER and Barbara BRECHT around 1760 to after 1802 from the Kelker book.

Barbara appears to be the daughter of Elizabeth and Jacob BRECHT. Jacob BRECHT/BRIGHT is found in 18th century Lancaster - now Lebanon County, Pennsylvania tax records in Schaefferstown. A likely relative Daniel Braught was in Dauphin, after 1813 Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Daniel's land records show 1805 transactions in Heidelberg Township, Dauphin County. In 1881 a Samuel Brecht sold 58 acres of land to Menno F. Hershey that later becomes the famous Hershey Chololate Factory stands. A son Jonas was recorded in the Births Copied From the Schaefferstown Lutheran Church Book. Need to search Heidelberg Congregation, 1765-1864, Schaefferstown, Lebanon County, PA records for Barbara Brecht Hauser.

Most likely our BRECHT family traces back to Kuntz BRECHT born 1563 in Germany according to this August 17, 1999 Ancestry.com posting.
