William Martin SERGENT was born 21 October 1841 in Harlan County, Kentucky, the son of Ephraim SERGENT and his first wife Deborah BIRD. He died 14 May 1926 and is buried at Rosspoint in Harlan County. In 1858, in Harlan, he married Elizabeth Ann HOWARD born 19 Jan 1841, daughter of James B HOWARD and Nancy BALL. Elizabeth is listed in both 1900 and 1910 as having had 11 children, 10 of whom were yet living. The deceased child's name and gender is unknown.
