Frances "Fanny" Jones was born about 1827, daughter of John Jones, probably by his second wife, --?-- Noe.(1) She first married to Andrew Forgy Coldwell born in Hawkins County, Tennessee, who died in 1850, and secondly to Jarvis Jackson. Andrew F. Coldwell was a lawyer by profession, coming to Harlan County as a young man where he married Fanny. They then, about 1840, removed to Perry County and from there, in 1843, to Laurel County. At the inception of the Mexican War, he recruited a company later known as comapny K of the Third Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. During the war he contracted a fatal disease to which he succumbed in 1849. Fanny Jones Coldwell Jackson died in 1882.
