I am searching for information on my g-grandmother Jemima (Jenny) DAWSON, WASHBURN, CROSS.  She would have lived in Woonsocket from about 1900 to when she died October 9, 1926.  George CROSS would have been her second husband.  I am searching for any information on this family, especially to Jemima and her first husband Lewis WASHBURN and their children Bessie (JENSEN), Edith (STIERS), Grace (JARVIS, THOMAS), Pearl (JONES), Jessie and Frank.  Would obituaries be available for those that died in Woonsocket.  I understand the Woonsocket News newspapers are located at Pierre.  How would I obtain information from these newspapers?  I want to find the name of Lewis WASHBURN's father and mother.  I have not been able to find this information on a death certificate of Lewis who died at Yankton.  I do know that his mother's name was Mary Ellen, but do not know her maiden name.  Thank you for any information that I might glean on these families.

We are looking for Charles S. SANFORD.  He and his wife lived in Woonsocket, Sanborn County, SD in 1941 and were mentioned in a newspaper clipping where they attended his mother’s (Sarah MILLER SANFORD) 90th birthday party in Parker, SD.  Are there any SANFORD’s from this family still in the area?  Charles SANFORD was born in Wisconsin, the family then moved to Correctionville, IA in 1877.  Others of this family settled in Chamberlain, SD.
