MANION posted by Cynthia Salvador on Wednesday, March 7, 2001

Wondering if anyone has access to 1870 to 1910 censuses of Brown County, city unknown, regarding a Thomas MANION (1837-1923). He had 3 daughters and 2 sons, Edward and John. He was a farmer. His wife died several years before he did, which was in 1923 (in Ca., visiting daughter, Mrs. Thomas Flannery). I believe his one daughter married Thomas Flannery there. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so very much. Cynthia

KERVIN, STENSON, THOMPSON posted by Tammy Morgan on Wednesday, May 23, 2001

I am looking for information on Jessie (Anna) THOMPSON. I do not know where she was born or even when she died. I think she was born around 1890. She had two children, Edna Mary KERVIN and Anne Thompson KERVIN. They were born on 20 Jun 1912 and 27 Feb 1914, respectively, in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She married Edward James KERVIN. I'm going to assume between 1910-1912. She died before 18 Aug 1920, because Edward James KERVIN remarried on 18 Aug 1920 to Ann (n) STENSON in Aberdeen, S. Dakota because his first wife had died. Any information would be appreciated.

JOHNSON, LORENS, PETERSON posted by Joanne Peterson on Sunday, June 17, 2001

Brown County -- Louis J. JOHNSON (1855- 19917) Looking for descendants of Louis JOHNSON, son of Lorents JOHNSON (1821- 1911) and Johanna Catharina (1820-1896). We understand Lorents came to Minnesota from Sweden with 2 children in 1853 and homesteaded on a farm south of Center City, Chisago County and that Lorents was one of the 12 'founders' of the big Swedish Lutheran Church at Center City. His first son Louis J. JOHNSON (one of the few who kept the JOHNSON name) homesteaded in Groton, S.D. and had 9 children. Our PETERSON family has an undated letter from Elsie (who??) who said she had been in touch with a granddaughter of Louis and that there were many in this branch of the LORENS family in South Dakota. Louis's oldest sister (Emma) was married my husband's great grandfather. Would love to find someone in this family to help us understand some of the old letters and pictures from the early 1900's!
