HUBBARD, HUMPHREY, KEENAN posted by Sharon Eddie on Tuesday, January 2, 2001

My GGrandfather was Julius Wolcott HUMPHREY or J.W. He was born in NY in 1856, emigrated to Illinois as a boy, and moved to SD as an adult. In the 1880s he married a Laura KEENAN and they moved to (I believe Groton). His first wife died abt 1892. They had 3 girls, Arlie, Blanche and Bernice? In 1893 he married my GGrandmother Nellie Verrelle HUBBARD from Clark County. My Grandfather Adon was born in 1896. Juilus died in 1909, and Nellie in 1913. Sounds like I have it all wrapped up, but I am trying to find out about the 3 girls and the death of Laura HUMPHREY. My info is that Julius ran a store in Groton in the 1890s. Does anyone have any info on this family? I'd like to find out what happened to the girls.

CLOUGH, PAGE posted by Sharon Lawyer Bishop on Tuesday, January 2, 2001

I am attempting to locate my grgrandparents, and hopefully, my grandmother's b.p. I found James's land records in Brown Co, issued 20 Jan 1885. This has been the only documentation I have found of my grgrandfather. Most genealogy sites list him as being born 1856 and dying in either 1857 or 1857-1946. My great grandmother's name was Anna (Annie) Eliza PAGE. My grandmother's marriage certificate lists James CLOUGH as her father and Annie PAGE as her mother. It was thought that my grandmother, Dora Pearl CLOUGH was born in the Pierre, Hughes Co. area, again I find no documentation to support this idea. Thanks in advance.

JACKMAN posted by Susan Goodman on Tuesday, January 2, 2001

I'm seeking info on William Thomas JACKMAN, 1848-1935 who is said to have been the sheriff of Aberdeen. I wasn't able to come up with any links to his name in the on-line database. He's the son of William JACKMAN who wrote "the Australian Captive", an autobiographical narrative adventure. This family has many descendants in Wisconsin, of which I am one. Thanks.
