Aberdeen and had following children: Mead Clinton EVENS, b. 1891 in Aberdeen; Ruth Inez EVENS, b. Mar 1893 in Aberdeen. W. Earl EVENS from New York, professional soldier and roamed alot, dying in CA. Ida May had a twin brother Arthur. parents are suppose to be John and Eloise SMITH of VA as written in Ruth Inez's bible. SMITHs had 19 children (so the record says) Can't find any of them! I assume SMITHs still in Aberdeen along with daughter that married Daszo WILT.
Oliver PETERSON
"Ollie" PETERSON, as he was always known in this locality, was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles O. PETERSON of La Porte, Ind. His father came to South Dakota in 1883 and filed on a homestead where later his wife and children joined him. As a young man he worked for Frank BOEHMER along with "Doe" GEORGE, Al BERRETH, Tex RIDER and others. He married Bessie HENDRICKSON in 1906 and lived in Le Beau where he took over the drayline after he had served as town marshal. He became the M. & St. L. hostler at Le Beau and also worked for BOEHMER. When Le Beau began to disintegrate he had built a new home so he had that moved here and he was M. & St. L. hostler when Akaska became the terminus of the line. The couple had 6 daughters and a son, namely Jessie, Olyve, Jack, Opal, Gertrude, Winnie and Beryle. He passed away in 1935. Mrs. PETERSON and family moved to Aberdeen where the children could further their education. When some of the family moved to the west coast Mrs. PETERSON went there, too, remaining.
