Good News!  This cemetery has now been adopted by the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, Private Thomas E. Caldwells 2nd Brigade Camp Number 0031.  These wonderful volunteers have cleaned up this cemetery and even replaced the tombstone for Benjamin F. Fewell.  I have take photos of what they have been able to do.

BEAMGUARD, Godfrey Died August the 31, 1839. "In memory of Godfrey Beamguard, who departed this life August the 31, 1839. Adieu all both far and near, my loving wife and children, For my immortal soul has fled, I now lie numbered with the dead. Remember friends as you pass by, As you are now, so once was I, As I am now, so you must be, Prepare for death and follow me." (close up view)

BEAMGUARD, Samuel Westley, October 18, 1836 - May 12, 1862 CSA (He enlisted in the 17th Regiment of the SCV, Co, F, Capt. J.W. Avery's Carolina Rifles, for a period of 12 months, as a private. He died at the hospital 5-12-1862, Camp Fillion, John's Island SC. He had been ill with Pneumonia & Typhoid fever. Obituary from the York Co, SC Death Notices 1823-1865: Died at Camp Pillow, John's Island, on the 12th of May, Mr. Samuel W. Beamguard, in the 26th year of his age. Carolina Rifles, 17th Regiment, SCV.)

BEAMGUARD, William Edmonds, October 15, 1836-November 21, 1865 (He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and was listed as missing on November 21, 1865.)

ALEXANDER, Clarissa C. (wife of J. Lee Alexander) died 23 Oct 1872.

FEWELL, Benjamin F. 22y, 24d died in Richmond, VA 16 January 1862 CSA (Son of Ezekiel Fewell and Jand D. Shaw Fewell. He served in the 5th SC Infantry Co. H as a Private.)

FEWELL, Ezekiel, died 2 June 1880 aged 78 years, 4 mon's and 6 days.

FEWELL, Jane D. (wife of Ezekiel Fewell) died 4 January ????.

FLOYD, Jane D. died 23 Jan 1872. (she was born in 1810)

HARVEY, Sarah (consort of A.D. Harvey) died 29 October 1862 aged 52 years. (Daughter of Godfrey Beamguard)

SHAW, Elizabeth, born 19 October 1790 died 20 June 1865.  

Floyd, Sarah, This tombstone is hard to read and I think it says Sarah Floyd.
