Court of General Sessions, York County, Part 5 - (The General Sessions Journal is an account of court business - jury lists, appointments by judges, indictments and verdicts of  the court cases, recommendations of the grand jury, etc.  From 1785 until 1800, York records are mixed with records of Pinckney Distrct which oversaw the area that is now York and Union counties.  Jury lists and grand jury recommendations have been omitted in the following but th econstable appointmens, indictments and verdicts habe been abstracted from the whole. Almost all of the cases begin with the words "The State versus..."
