The following parishes have been transcribed for the years 1841–1871 inclusive:
Following the establishment of the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS) in 1855, parishes were numbered in alphabetical order within a county. The numbering was then applied retrospectively to the records from the 1841 and 1851 Censuses. The number 776 is not used in 1841 and 1851 — Kirkhope was enumerated as part of Yarrow until after it became a parish in its own right in 1852.
Also note that parts of the geographical county of Selkirk were enumerated with the adjoining counties of Peebleshire or Midlothian.
