GPS = N34 45.756 Latitude x W82 45.158 Longitude CEMETERY HISTORY: ------------------------ The Brock family cemetery no longer has any tombstones. It was on the property once owned by my step-brother, Witt Rhodes. The cemetery, according to a much older Brock family member, was just behind and underneath Witt's house. The house is on the corner of Winding Creek Rd. and the road going to Norris in front of the house. I do not know who currently lives in the house. Judy Ballard o----------o Paul, I can't tell you where I read it (cause I can't remember), but I do remember reading just a few months ago that Aunt Bird had told someone there is now a house built on top of that cemetery. Of course that bit of information hasn't been verified. I'll look around and see if I can find where I read it. Amanda, Dec-2006 o----------o BROCK CEMETERY Bird Garvin Montgomery stated that Elizabeth Clayton who married Frederick N. Garvin said that the youngest daughter of William Clayton Senior was buried at the Brock Cemetery near Norris on Winding Creek Road. o---------o Hello Paul, I remember my uncle telling me the story about the house being built over the cemetery and showed me the house. My uncle used to own the old Brock homeplace located on Garvin Road (Garvin Road runs into Winding Creek Road). The old house was about a mile or two from where the Brock Cemetery was located. The old house has since been torn down. I don't live very far from where the old cemetery was once located. I was shocked when I learned that someone had built a house over a cemetery. I can show you where the house is that was built over the cemetery if you want to know and haven't found out by now. Katie Gillespie, 7-28-08 E-mail address is ksgflowers@yahoo.com Member of OPD Society I will take a picture of the houe and send it to you sometime. I can't remember the cemetery, but I was probably just a kid and didn't pay attention to cemeteries back then. Shame on those people for tearing up a cemetery! I wouldn't be able to sleep a wink in that house! Thanks for the history of who owned the property. My uncle probably told me many years ago, but I had forgotten. I think that Judy Ballard also told me one time. Thanks for your response.
