Andy Gowans serving as the first pastor. During the twenty years Mr. Gowens was pastor, a log cabin for worship was built. The Rev. George Earl was Cold Spring's second pastor for twenty-seven years. Others following as pastors were the Rev. Baker, the Rev. J.H. McKissick, and the Rev. E.D. Watkins, who served twenty-eight years. The Rev. Brooner succeeded Rev. Watkins and pastured the church for one and one-half years. The Rev. M.P. Robertson became pastor after Mr. Brooner, serving one year. He was followed by the Rev. L.E. Ellis. Upon Rev. Ellis' leaving the church, the Rev. C.C. Stewart became pastor and served for thirteen years. Rev. James E. Williams is the present pastor, having served for the past nine years. The land for Cold Spring Baptist Church was given by the estate of Mac Bruce in 1870. The land for the cemetery was given by J. D. Welborn in 1885. The present church was built under the leadership of the Rev. George Earl. Improvements were made under each succeeding pastor. Cold Spring has an average of about 127 members.
