Darlene's Note: Barnard Snell was a Loyalist in the Revolutionary War, as were his youngest sons. He tried to flee to Nova Scotia after the war, but died in Charleston while awaiting 'evacuation'. His sons George, David and Daniel went to Nova Scotia and were awarded land for their father's loyalty.
