North Carolina State Volunteers
The following is a listing of those commands which were organized of North Carolina State Volunteers under the first and second calls of President William McKinley for troops in April and May of 1898. These commands were organized in most cases from the exisiting National Guard units and carried the designation of their respective states (i.e. North Carolina Infantry) or rather than United States Volunteers which are listed elsewhere). Theses troops were organized for service in the War with Spain and the Philippine Insurrection from Febraury of 1898 to July of 1902.
