WHITE/WALLACE- Looking for info on Eliga Crasandra White (5/9/1862 - 1/5/1917) married William McCullum Wallace (8/15/1844 - 6/20/1887) on Jan. 28, 1884. She is said to have been born in Alcolu (Clarendon County), SC. Need names of parents and siblings if any. Also, does anyone know if the records for the saw/lumber mill in Alcolu are archived anywhere? It appears that a lot of folks in the area (including my ancestors) worked for this mill and I would like to know more about it - history, pictures, etc. Most appreciative for any information given.
GAMBLE/CASSELS- Seeking information on Agnes GAMBLE (born 13 July 1779 in SC; died 13 Nov 1854), married on 2 Jun 1796 William Henry CASSELS (born 1772; died 1855). Agnes Gamble and her husband lived in Sumter, perhaps near Mayesville, SC. I am trying to identify Agnes Gamble's parents. I noticed in Cassie Nichols' Historical Sketches of Sumter County, mention of Gamble families living in Clarendon County in the early 1800's. She mentions Nelson and Goodman Gamble owning several hundred acres of land near Turbeville, SC on Highway 301 between Manning and Olanta. Does anyone have any information on this Gamble family ancestors, or Agnes Gamble.

DRIGGERS - I am researching the Driggers family of Clarendon Co. My ggrandfather was Peter J. Driggers. Most of my great and gg grand parents are buried in Harvin cemetery. I'm also interested in the Rodgers family. My gggrandfather was Shade Rodgers. I would love to hear from someone that grew up in Alcolu,S.C. and may know some of my family. I had a great uncle there named James (JIM) William Thames.
BREWER/SPRY- I am a descendant of Henry Spry (1766-1804) who lived in the Camden District (later Sumter District). His daughter, Isabella Green Spry 1799-1875), married my ggg-grandfather -- John R. Brewer (1792-1822). Isabella was a staunch Methodist and her only son, Reuben Henry Brewer, became a Methodist minister in Montgomery County, Alabama. (Isabella had moved there from Sumter District -- Clarendon County-- in 1827.) I am wondering if anyone happens to know of the existence of old church records (primarily Methodist) in Clarendon County. If they do exist, then I may be able to gather some more information about the Spry and Brewer families. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

POWERS - I recently obtained a copy of my G.grandfather's Civil War pension application from the Florida State Archives. In the application, at different places, he states that he was born in Clarendon County S.C. in either 1838 or 1840 and moved to Fernandina Fla in either 1846 or 1852. It is therefore possible he was as young as 6 or as old as 14. I do not know his father's name. I would appreciate any information on the POWERS family in Clarendon County. Geo.W. Powers married Mary H. McGrath of Charleston in Altman S.C. on Jan 15, 1873 which suggests that he returned to S.C. after the war. I amalso trying to trace the McGraths.
